Eaton Corporation Material Handler - 1st Shift in Youngsville, North Carolina
Eaton, located in Youngsville, NC, has an opening for a Material Handler position on 1st Shift
Ownership of material distribution, sorting, organizing, and allocation in the production area
Ability and experience to use a RF scan gun to move and allocate material
Must take initiative to move needed material to the production lines based on production plan and material requests and ready material for assembler use as to not disrupt the flow of the production lines
Kit parts and components; distribute to production lines with accuracy and maintain integrity of configured kits.
Assist and enhance continuous improvement efforts
Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet the orders from our customers through daily monitoring of inventory; also perform cycle counts and maintain inventory system as required
Load and unload trucks and inspect material for damage
Assist with on-the-job training
Report irregularities or equipment malfunctions
Assist team in achieving plant and department goals
Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions
Drive and maintain forklifts through daily inspection checklists and perform housekeeping duties as necessary
Use the principles of 5S+ to ensure a clean and organized work area
Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork
Perform other duties and working overtime as required
High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates in the immediate geographical area (60 mile radius) of the facility will be considered.
Minimum one year of forklift experience
Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures.
Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime as required
Ability to demonstrate problem solving and conflict management ability
Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality priorities
Ability to demonstrate effective communication and listening skills
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly throughout work shift
Ability to be flexible and travel an approximate distance of 20 miles from work location to neighboring Raleigh Area Plants as needed
Experience using SAP
Knowledge of methods used for material transactions (e.g. Requisition Forms)
Basic understanding of SharePoint
