Eaton Corporation National Facilities Area Manager in United States

Eaton Electrical Division North American Sales (NAS) organization has an opening for a National Facilities Manager. This position can be located anywhere within the U.S., preferably within 50 miles of an Eaton Facility.

The National Facilities Area Manager is responsible for all of the facilities involving Eaton Electrical North America Sales and includes coordination with other Eaton divisions including Engineering Services, Power Distribution, Power Quality and any other Eaton business that may be co-located in a North America Sales facility. The National Facilities Area Manager provides leadership for a team of two regional Facility Area Managers and an administrator. This position is responsible for managing total facility projects including facility searches, proposed layout and tenant improvements, assisting with commercial lease negotiations, and the capital fund approval process. Project management responsibilities involve overseeing facility construction to include the general and sub-contractors in addition to all necessary vendors such as furniture, telephone, data, electrical wiring, building security system and major office equipment/machines. The National Facilities Area Manager is responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on-time and on budget. Ongoing facility responsibilities include major equipment, machines, and systems purchasing and leasing and any needed facility changes, reconfigurations and remodeling.

  • You will work effectively with local/field managers and employees to achieve consensus throughout entire project from initial site selection to space planning and architecture, to the actual move or relocation.

  • You will collaborate and coordinate with Eaton's global real estate, telecommunications and IT organizations.

  • You will provide guidance to district and region administrators on facility related administrative issues.

  • You will be responsible for all North American Sales offices located throughout the United States 80 facilities throughout the United States over 1.1m square feet of real estate; capital budget of $2.5m; annual operating budget $310k.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 7 years facility management experience

  • Must be skilled in Autocad, Excel, Word and Powerpoint

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Business Administration from an accredited institution

  • Project Management experience

  • PMP certification preferred

Position Criteria:

  • Knowledge in commercial real estate and facility leases, commercial general construction and contracting

  • Knowledge of phone and data communications, office space planning and furniture layout, general accounting, major office equipment and machines

  • Experience in relocation / move project coordination

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with little or no supervision

  • Time and budget management skills

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and in the field

  • Travel up to 50%
