Eaton Corporation Sales Engineer Power Quality in Mexico

The primary responsibility is to manage the assigned customer base, to increase sales in the local marketplace,

application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers and/or distributors and obtaining orders that are

profitable to Eaton.

Essential functions include: develop and execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements,

achieving assigned sales quota, develop, grow, and maintain relationships with Eaton employees, specifiers, customers

and distributors. Maintain cooperative and credible working relationship with other company personnel to assure customer

satisfaction. Provide technical assistance to customers, distributors and/or end users as needed. Plan promotional

activities and presentations with end users to elevate products and solutions over competitors Sell assigned product

(lines) to targeted customers with the objective of optimizing sales volume, product mix, and profit margin. Collect,

analyze and utilize market intelligence data on competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habits.

  • Manage all aspects of the relationship with assigned customer base.

  • Develop and implement sales plans to meet performance expectation and requirements.

  • Assist sales with bid strategy and quotations to customers and/or distributors using company price and delivery

guidelines, and use sound business judgment to enhance volume and margins.

  • Prepare sales presentations to create product understanding and awareness.

  • Build relationships with key customers to enhance long-term business prospects.

  • Prepare sales proposals based on customer needs and expectations.

Administer all phases of sales process to ensure effective and timely customer service and response.

  • Sell assigned product platforms to targeted customers in designated geography or industry with the objective of

optimizing sales volume, product mix and profit margin.

  • Quote projects and negotiate correct required pricing.

  • Prepare sales presentations to create product understanding and awareness.

  • Build relationships with key customers to enhance long-term business prospects.

  • Assist team to develop a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditions.

  • Obtain ongoing training on both functional and technical skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.

  • 5 years of electrical industry and/or IT experience.

  • 3 years technical sales experience.

  • Desired experience working with directly end customers and/or distributors in the mission critical, information technology,

power quality and electrical market.

  • Power Quality product knowledge.

  • Desired experience with Data Center/Power Quality and Power Distribution requirements.

  • English Language Intermediate to high level required.

  • Commercial knowledge, ability to technically sell data center products, electrical products and package power quality

solutions.

  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong ethics, values and the ability to influence and impact others’ decision making.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in addition to strong organizational skills.

  • Possess negotiating skills while understanding and using techniques needed to close orders.

  • Ability to respond to a variety of challenging circumstances while continuing to demonstrate superior selling skills for

important customer services and applications.

  • Experience utilizing Value Added selling techniques.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and solve problems.

  • Skilled in time management.

  • Experience with preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectations.

  • Willingness to learn and adept at building relationships.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently in the field and manage long sales cycles.

  • Ability to provide technical solutions built around customer need.

  • Strong team player that actively contributes to the group’s success.

  • Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance workload.

Strong computer skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet
