Eaton Corporation Associate Engineer - Metrology lab in India

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)


List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.


Reads part drawings, models etc. and analyzes GD&T and measurement requirements.


Selects optimal way of measurement and makes programs for dimensions to be measured as per requirements.


Ensures that all the equipment are calibrated, maintained and are performing to required standards.


Plans work in the lab, ensures timely delivery of all work.


Helps other colleagues learn measurement techniques and operate machines in expected way whenever necessary.


Acts as a resource for all metrological measurement needs for project teams from EIIC.


Collaborates with diverse cross-functional teams at global level. Documents lessons learnt; Acquires and disseminates knowledge to wider community.



Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering


  • Sound knowledge and hands-on experience of ≥3 years on one or more of the following: CMM, Roundness & Cylindricity tester, Con-tracer, surface roughness tester, profile projector, miscellaneous gauges etc.

  • Sound knowledge of GD&T.

  • Experience in Metrology lab operation.

  • Experience with usage of CAD tools like PRO-E, CATIA, Unigraphics etc.

  • Sound knowledge of applicable standards like ISO, ASTM, SAE, JIS etc.

  • Sound knowledge of statistics and SPC.

  • Experience with QMS like ISO9001, TS16949, NABL accreditation etc.


  • Hands-on experience with 3D scanner.

  • Sound knowledge and experience on gauge calibration.

  • Knowledge & experience of various machining processes.

  • Experience in competitive benchmarking and tear down.

Special Skills:

  • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to all local & global stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in working on basic computer software.
