Location: EMEA Business Service Center in Budapest, Hungary
Provide regional leadership and manage all activities and resources of the GFSS organization in EMEA to drive change in support of the execution of Eaton’s overall global strategy. The regional leader will provide key input into the overall global strategy and act as the focal point in region to drive that strategy forward by working across the GFSS organization, regional operations, and regional functional leaders to get proper input, alignment, and ensure execution. The regional leader will also manage overall performance metrics and customer expectations for GFSS (including support provided within and outside the region) including the management of regionally based activities directly.
Active involvement in the development of the GFSS strategy including close coordination and input from regional business and functional leaders.
Build internal relationships (operational and functional leadership) and external relationships (audit firms, suppliers and banking partners) to ensure alignment of strategies and goals.
Identify functional needs of customers including corporate accounting, Internal Audit, Tax and Treasury and deliver solutions to further improve regional customer satisfaction:
Manage customer performance through regular reviews/interaction of GFSS performance
Drive improvements and actions plans to achieve desired world class results by working across the organization
Continually assess alternatives to improve overall delivery by optimizing scope to improve leverage and centralization
Ensure close coordination of these activities with supporting centers and GFSS leadership
Manage cross functional initiatives which contributed to overall Eaton Goals
Execute key facets of Eaton Business System in region and responsible for maintaining and improving the maturity level in region
Development and execution of short term and long term regional objectives aligned to global strategy, including:
Develop annual operating and performance measurement plans that align resources with regional and corporate goals and objectives. Establish monitoring mechanisms to identify areas both for improvement and recognition.
Management of regionally based support activities in Budapest, Hungary and Glasgow, UK and coordination of support activities in Pune service center.
Drive deployment of global technology solutions in region and support the development and deployment of regionally specific solutions.
Implement end to end accounting services in conjunction with support centers to all operational and corporate ledgers and deliver efficiency and operational improvements to allow operations to focus on business management
Provide input and ideas to improve the results and service within the region. Promote and drive standardized global processes across EMEA region.
Build organizational capability and foster employee involvement in continuous improvement efforts, through empowering teams and team members to be decision makers.
Drive focus on internal control, compliance & ethics in region:
Promote and maintain an effective Internal Control environment that supports compliance with both US GAAP and all local & statutory requirements in all countries GFSS is supporting. This includes compliance with all of the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley.
Ensure integrity and accuracy of all information reported to internal and external customers. Promote quality culture within the ISSC - Suzhou by focusing on reducing cycle times and costs of non-conformance.
Ensure that ethical standards are maintained in a manner that accrues maximum benefit to Eaton across supported areas
Accounting degree or international equivalent
7 plus years of financial management experience
Experience at a Multi-National Corporation
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work across numerous cultural and legal boundaries
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, familiar with various international accounting practices
Experience in managing a Shared Service organization (preferred)
Exposure to SOX and similar regulations
Excellent analytical, written and oral communication (including presentation) skills
Knowledge and experience with multiple European statutory and legal requirements
Operational acumen and ability to relate to business objectives
Hands on experience with both SAP and Oracle environments preferable
