Senior Program Manager - Aerospace
Managing the customer relationship, maintaining customer satisfaction, yet assuring that scope is managed appropriately and contract changes are secured where appropriate.
Assures that a high quality reliable system solution with appropriate product is supplied to the customer that meets all customer, applicable industry specification and certifying authority requirements, and meets overall customer expectations.
Manages on time achievement of all Statement of Work (SOW) and other development milestones (design reviews, submittals, etc.). Responsible for on time delivery of products and services. Leads the SOW task within the described product development process structure – PROLaunch NPD.
Responsible for overall life-of-the program successful financial performance (ROI). Ability to work seamlessly within Aerospace organization to achieve financial program success.
Directs overall organizational performance on the program, assuring that the “Triple Constraint” of Cost/Scope/Schedule is met and resources necessary to achieve this constraint are appropriately identified, communicated and implemented and/or executed to meet desired planned outcome.
Manages organization and leadership of teams in a matrix environment. Supports functional managers inputs & feedback for team members’ employee performance management requirements.
Monitors & reports overall performance thru metrics (Key Performance Indicators) during all phases of the program and develops as well as implements corrective action & recovery plans as required. Responsible for periodic Project Status Reports using specified Aerospace reporting template.
Leads team in identifying, quantifying and mitigating risk. Uses risk mitigation methodologies.
Responsible for development and execution of subcontract management, supported by assigned team members from Supply Chain and Contracts.
Responsible for creating, managing and reporting Earned Value, Estimate at Completion and periodic budget forecast.
Supports and/or leads new business proposal Program Volume content.
Development Budget Adherence (Non-recurring expenses including but not limited to engineering cost)
Earned Value Reporting & Estimate at Completion
Product Margin (Development hardware, low rate initial production and full rate production)
Schedule Performance (All program deliverables with focus on contract performance requirements)
Customer Satisfaction (All levels of the customer’s organization)
Momentum sales level
Program Risk Management (Includes responsibility to ensure actions are adequate & completed on time)
Program Size in terms of census, budget, and revenue as well as incorporating contract change
Specialist Knowledge Required to Apply:
BS / BA preferred
10-15 years in aerospace industry or related experience
Training in PMI (Project Management Institute) methodology; PMP (Project Management Professional) certification desirable
Knowledge of contracts and federal laws
Knowledge of aerospace industry and Eaton products
Knowledge of corporate and project finance
Customer interface and service skills
Problem solving skills
Communication skills– both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports
Organizational and planning skills
Knowledge of the aerospace product development process
Additional Experience Required
· Experience managing programs with: 1) subsystems / systems scope of responsibility, 2) medium / high customer business risk, 3) $10,000K-$75,000K NRE budget, and 4) $50,000K-$200,000K total program value
· Experience and knowledge of the role of Program Management in all PROLaunch gate phases.
· please note travel will be required across Europe and US
