Eaton Corporation Foundry Casting Processor (2nd Shift) in Syracuse, New York

Eaton Crouse-Hinds is currently seeking a 2nd shift Foundry Casting Processor to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY facility.

  • You will perform a wide variety of duties throughout the foundry areas following standard procedures and/or work instructions.

  • You will transport materials, castings and/or equipment with either a fork truck or payloader.

  • You will use a variety of rough grinding equipment, portable hand power tools and bench grinders as necessary to remove parting lines, gates, riser, flash and other surface defects as prescribed.

  • You will change your own small inspect grinding wheels or bits or dress wheels as necessary according to job requirement or when worn, place prescribed wheel or abrasive belt on machine or select wheels or belts within narrow limits.

  • You will set up and operate automatic molding machines as assigned and/or following work instructions, as well as operate shot blast cleaning equipment.

  • You will perform minor maintenance duties such as tightening loose parts (spray nozzles, etc.), replacing parts (sprues, etc.), clean assigned work area.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity

  • One year experience working in a foundry environment

    Position Success Criteria:

  • Ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow instructions; includes the use and reading of fixed gauges, and other instruments not requiring interpretation.

  • Moderate physical effort equivalent to continuous light, frequent average, or occasional heavy manual effort manual effort applied various ways in performance of various job duties.
