Eaton Corporation Senior Project Engineer in Southfield, Michigan
Eaton’s Vehicle Division is seeking a Senior Project Engineer. The Senior Project Engineer will be based in Southfield, MI.
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for the development of test capability for supercharger, torque control, and valve train products. This individual will support the development of test systems (hardware, software, and controls), create and maintain test documentation including test requirements, test procedures, and test reports, and perform data analysis tasks to ensure proper system operation by utilizing real-time and post-processing data analysis tools. The ideal candidate should have industry leading technical abilities and excellent communication skills. This person should have a combination of in-depth knowledge of Test Engineering, Quality Assurance, and solid data-analysis skills.
Work with product engineering to understand customer’s requirements and their implications for testing programs.
Develop, execute and document complex test procedures.
Identify and propose process improvements within the test engineering organization.
Design of test methods and use of special equipment as required.
Be responsible for defined projects with moderate to high complexity.
Provide timely and effective communications on significant issues or developments.
Performs data analysis of high speed test data.
Working with industry partners to introduce latest testing and data acquisition technologies.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with emphasis in a mechanical design, development, and/or test of powertrain components.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience with Powertrains Engines, transmissions.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience with emissions analysis, data acquisition, test instrumentation and setup.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
