Eaton Corporation Test Lab Manager in Shanghai Shi, China

This is a position for the Vehicle Group (VG) Tech Center Lab management for both Engine Air Management and Power Train. The Lab Manager will be in charge of the lab construction and capability development according to the business development strategy, lead the daily routines and tests to provide supports for the business expanding in China and responsible for lab operation excellence, EHS, etc.

Essential Functions:

A. Leadership on the VG Tech Center Lab development strategy in terms of the business strategy on both Engine Air Management and Power Train in China Market: establish/complete the lab development plan including resource, equipment and instrument, perfect the lab management system;

B. Responsible for Lab daily routines. Coordinating and arranging the test requirements;

C. Mastering all the equipment and instrument performance and usage. Providing guideline for all the tests, equipment install and usage;

D. Working together with engineering team on program development from the validation standpoint.

E. Planning and conducting the training for test engineers and technicians to ensure all staff in the lab to be competent to their positions.

F. Checking and approving testing data/reports before sent out from Lab team;

G. Working with customers to support and/or develop test system methodology along with data interpretation

H. Communicating with Eaton COE to get more support and guideline for the Lab capability and capacity.

I. Complies with the policies, procedures, and expectations outlined by Eaton’s Management System for the Environment, Safety, Security, and Health (MESH) and Quality Management Systems.


Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive or Material Engineering from an accredited institution is required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive industry is required

  • Good communication both in Chinese and English- written and oral

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Automotive or Material Engineering from an accredited institution is preferred

  • 5 years of experience in a test lab is preferred
