Eaton Corporation Tax Analyst, Transfer Pricing in Shanghai Shi, China
Support Tax Managers - Transfer Pricing in development and documentation of Eaton’s worldwide transfer pricing strategy. Activities include dealing with TP controversy within APAC, ensuring TP compliances such as proper RHQ charge out methodology, TP disclosure filings and TP documentations are put in place, and support the global TP initiatives such as TP adjustments, TP planning etc. .
Identify and analyze intercompany transactions;
Support Transfer Pricing Manager in development of functional and financial analyses;
Model potential intercompany transactions to support determination of tax effective structuring that aligns with business objectives;
Perform benchmarking for purposes of evaluating the arm’s length nature of transfer prices for certain intercompany transactions;
Support Transfer Pricing Manager in preparation of transfer pricing documentation as required under tax laws of the various jurisdictions in which Eaton operates throughout the world; review the Chinese version TPDs prepared by external advisors.
Review TP data templates and other TP related documents;
Support Transfer Pricing Manager in identifying and quantifying the TP exposures, collecting relevant supporting documents and analyzing TP adjustment scenarios;
Lead the China RPT forms project by providing training to the local finances in China and reviewing the debt to equity ratio calculations and segmental financials, and providing guidance and suggestions;
Provide simple consulting advices to the operations.Qualifications
This position requires:
A. a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting or a Master’s degree in a business related field. Applications from candidates with a bachelor’s degree other than the previously specified will be considered, if candidates have relevant work experience in the area of transfer pricing/tax or finance. An advanced degree in a business related field or a professional qualification like CPA/CFA or similar constitutes an advantage.
In addition, the position requires a person with strong skills in the following areas:
B. Computer skills – Must be fluent in the use of standard software, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint, including experience in financial modeling. Also, must be able to learn Eaton’s databases, financial reporting and forecasting systems.
C. Communications – Must be able to clearly communicate, orally and in writing, tax explanations, answers, recommendations or alternatives regarding complex financial transactions and legal issues to both tax and non-tax personnel.
D. Interpersonal skills – Must interact effectively with people, both inside and outside the Company, who have diverse backgrounds, languages and different objectives.
E. Business Judgment – Must understand how tax decisions or plans impact other areas such as Treasury and Operations and develop, recommend and implement tax strategies consistent with non-tax objectives.
Further, skills in the following areas would be helpful:
F. Tax law – Statutes, regulations, court decisions and tax treaties must be interpreted and fully understood.
G. Accounting – Because the tax laws are applied to financial transactions, this professional must know how transactions are recorded and reported on the books, and how and where tax accounting rules differ from book accounting rules. Also, it is necessary to analyze complex financial transactions to determine what tax laws apply.
H. The ideal candidate would possess transfer pricing experience at a either a consulting firm or a large multi-national company.
