Eaton Corporation Cost Accountant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico
As part of the finance group, he/she will be responsible for the general accounting processes such as Fixed Assets Management & Capitalization, Travel & Expense reporting, and Journal Entry preparation. Furthermore, he/she will support financial close process (monthly basis) and internal controls activities, such as process reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate reporting requirements
A. Assist in resolution of general accounting and statutory accounting issues. As well as implement corrective actions as necessary.
B. Participate and support financial close activities with accuracy, and in accordance with corporate timing and reporting requirements.
C. Process import/export (Customs Brokerage Agency) expenses and advances on a timely basis. Support statutory accountant and import/export department in monitoring and controlling logistics expenses.
D. Assist & Participate in diverse accounting initiatives and projects as required.
E. Active participation in development of strategic plan (5 year) and next year profit plan (1 year) capital requirements. Monitor capital spending and ensure compliance to Profit Plan and rolling forecast commitments.
F. Responsible for fixed asset management, including tracking and capitalization of CIP and fixed assets in compliance with Eaton policy. As well as management of existing assets, and disposition of surplus and excess fixed assets.
G. Responsible for performing fixed asset inventories and cycle counts as required.
I. Drive continuous improvement of key financial metrics as they relate to the general accounting function. Responsible to report and drive/implement action items to improve metrics (BSC).
J. Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls deemed necessary to ensure integrity of financial transactions, reporting and activities; and safeguarding of plant assets in adherence with corporate policies and procedures. Ensure compliance of statutory requirements as applicable to the plant.
K. Assist in Balance Sheet review process. Ensure comprehensive account reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis and in compliance with Eaton policy; that issues identified are documented and corrective actions implemented in a timely manner. Support formal quarterly balance sheet reviews to ensure account accuracy.
L. Assist and participate in internal / external audits as required.
M. Support implementation of improvements to monthly closing procedures ensuring accuracy and timeliness, as well as continuous develop and improvement of financial modeling and tools.
N. Ensure accurate and timely submission of data to the various Eaton systems (Encore, DFT, RSD, E-room, Cognos, EPM, BSC, etc.)
O. Maintain an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement in order to achieve departmental and plant goals. Support plant, functional or corporate initiatives.
P. Support and/or lead department activities related to process improvements and standard work. Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing department and plant goals. Deploy & sustain lean tools and initiatives in order to reduce waste and improve efficiency of the finance function.
Q. Llevar a cabo la ejecución y contabilización de la nómina semanal de personal sindicalizado y de confianza así como de nóminas especiales (Prestaciones, Pago de Finiquitos, Indemnizaciones, etc.)
R. Verificar la aplicación correcta de las deducciones tales como FONACOT, INFONAVIT, Prestamos a empleados, pensiones alimenticias, caja de ahorro, Porvenir Eaton, etc.;
S. Auditar en los sistemas de nóminas y de Recursos humanos que la cantidad de horas a pagar sean las mismas; de igual forma, los días de vacaciones, tiempos omitidos, etc.
T. Ajustar las deducciones para preservar el concepto legal en lo que a deducciones se refiere, en los casos que los descuentos superen el salario del empleado(a).
U. Validación de los conceptos gravados y exentos de la nómina semanal así como el impuesto a retener.
V. Verificar que no haya variación en los pagos de salarios con respecto a la nómina inmediata anterior para evitar pagos equivocados.
W. Procesar de forma mensual el pago a instituciones como FONACOT, IMSS, 2% sobre nómina, seguro de autos y ejecución de los procesos de “cierre de mes”
X. Ejecutar mensualmente o bimestralmente el proceso de pago de contribuciones de seguridad social y amortizaciones de créditos INFONAVIT, así como la verificación de Salario diario integrado base para los cálculos.
Y. Ejecutar periódicamente pagos extraordinarios a todos los empleados como son el pago de fondo de ahorro a los empleados. aguinaldos, PTU y cálculo de bonificaciones, cuando aplique.
Z. Ejecutar anualmente la declaración de sueldos, verificando la integridad de la información asi como los impuestos retenidos entregado un reporte individual a los empleados que lo requieran.
AA. Solventar todo tipo de requerimientos por parte de la autoridad como puede ser la SHCP, IMSS e INFONAVIT, FONACOT, etc.
BB. Soportar todo tipo de auditorías internas e internas (IMSS, INFONAVIT, Estados financieros, etc.)
CC. Procesar, analizar y llevar a cabo la depuración de las de cuentas de balance que correspondan
A. Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
B. Bilingual: Spanish and English, the later one at least at 75% in both writing and verbal.
C. Minimum of one to three years work experience combined with a technical, specialized knowledge of general accounting that enables the incumbent to solve daily and high exposure problems.
D. Technical capability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational data/reports.
E. Superior analytical and thinking skills; Intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability
F. Strong Interpersonal Skills in order to communicate with customer as well as Eaton Management.
G. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specially spreadsheet software packages Excel
H. Sound working knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and local statutory requirements.
I. Oracle Knowledge a Plus
• Position involves analytical skills, with some amount of computer modeling to facilitate achievement of reporting requirements. Solutions must be developed for a variety of problems, some which do not readily lend themselves to a quick and easy method of resolution.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities often with demanding time constraints to meet recurring and adhoc reporting requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to motivate and help direct the organization; exhibits managerial courage in defending a position and handling conflict.
