The primary function of the Technical Support Engineer is to provide technical support for Low Voltage Power Distribution Products, including residential products (loadcenters, breakers, group metering and generators), dry type transformers, switching devices (safety switches, rotary switches), molded case breakers, miniature breakers and select alternative energy related products. The position would include assisting customers with product selection, troubleshooting, and application assistance received via phone, email and chat..

Your essential responsibilities:

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

  • Should have understanding of technical aspects of Distribution Components and related applications.

  • Should have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and be able to understand and resolve complex customer application issues.

  • Provide efficient and accurate pre-sale application and technical support by analyzing and recommending solutions to meet customer’s needs.

  • Interpret customer specifications, drawings and schematics to assist with quotes and solutions.

  • Cross reference competitive products.

  • Help manage daily phone, chat and email activity providing directions, solutions and recommendations.

  • Generate and communicate sales leads to field sales organization and product line.

  • Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies.

PRODUCT LINE SUPPORT

  • Proactively communicate customer needs to the product lines.

  • Provide feedback to product marketing and engineering regarding catalog information, cross reference data, renewal parts information, technical drawings, and any other technical documentation found in hard copy, electronic format or on the website.

  • Maintain and expand product knowledge base available to all internal and external customers.

Qualifications

If you are:

  • Graduate in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics).

  • 3-5 years of experience – manufacturing industry exposure preferred.

  • Technical Acumen

  • Leadership skills, drive for results, and collaborative style

  • Communication skills

  • Presentation and training skills

  • Initiative and self-management skills

  • Ability to interpret customer specifications, electrical and mechanical drawings
