Sales and Marketing Center (SMC) partners with multiple Eaton businesses across different geographies to deliver incremental value and drive growth by providing best in class solutions and practices through its five integral CoEs - Sales Analytics & Market Research [SAMR], Creative CoE, Customer Services [CS], Master Data Management [MDM] and Pricing CoE. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Associate Marketing Manager supports the development of product line strategies for assigned product line portfolio working with the Global Product Category Manager.

The measure of success is implementation of the plan and growth in revenue and profitability over planned period.

Working with cross functional teams to develop new products in line with product technology roadmaps to achieve cost targets, revenue and profitability expectations. Responsible to drive demand creation in conjunction with the commercial teams globally.

Supports new product introductions into the market place. Assess competitive position of the product offerings and directs investment to achieve best in class cost and feature position for product lines under management.

Provides market, competitive and customer intelligence to the marketing teams in support of long-term strategy and tactical plans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)

List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) that must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above. Major duties, functions and key responsibilities but not limited to are as follows:

Customer and Competitive intelligence:

  • Conduct secondary market research on competitors – analysis on their product catalogues/ portfolio, understand gaps, key areas of strengths and weaknesses to inform product rationalization and new product development decisions

  • Conduct secondary research on competitor manufacturing footprint, fulfillment locations and policies, lead times.

  • Derive customer intelligence through understanding of their key strategies, product platforms and roadmaps through secondary research.

  • Conduct research on industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Work closely with the Engineering shared services team to cross reference customer and competitor portfolios with Eaton portfolios by using catalogs and engineering drawings.

  • Analysis of competitive pricing info to inform pricing strategies and decisions.

Strategic Plan development:

  • Provide support to product management team in development of annual strategic plans through above-mentioned secondary market research and other forms of support in developing the presentations.

Business case development:

  • Help develop business cases for product management teams for new initiatives by using the tools like Pro Launch and the portfolio assessment tool.

Commercialization support:

  • Help support product teams through active funnel tracking (risks, opportunities, wins and losses) through C360, drive follow ups with global sales teams.

  • Support collateral development as needed with creative team.

Data Management:

  • Conduct audits on BMH reports and ensure governance to BMH Hierarchy globally.

  • Support continuous improvement in data integrity of the PDH (Product Data Hub).

  • Monitor data quality on Eaton.com and PowerSource websites and work to “clean-up” inconsistencies and in inaccuracies.

Monthly data analytics and reporting:

  • C360 funnel tracking and analytics – new products and existing products.

  • D-list tracking, follow up and support.

  • Monthly support to update Life Cycle Management Dashboards and regional product plans including follow up analysis.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

Describe any specialized knowledge or skill (e.g., technical, scientific, administrative, managerial) that your position requires.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a B2B industrial company

  • Relevant experience in Product Marketing.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical systems and products.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software products including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.

  • Well-developed communication and organizational skills.

  • Must have the passion and curiosity to learn.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Project management experience.

  • New product commercialization experience.

  • Participation in Strategic Product Planning and Product Road mapping.
