Eaton Corporation’s eMobility Division has an opening within our Wireless group for a Senior Accountant located in Port Coquitlam, BC Canada.

Position Overview :

As the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for executing various accounting functions and improving global accounting processes and controls to drive and deliver shareholder value. You will drive the accounting needs for the Wireless division and report out to the Wireless Controller and Division Finance leadership.

The Senior Accountant supports all accounting functions of the site, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank, capital asset /inventory management, general ledger, month end close, reconciliations, month and year end close.

Essential Functions:

  • You will prepare and enter journal entries including all Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable entries.

  • You will maintain and reconcile ledgers, reports and accounting records.

  • You will assist in the preparation of complete, accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements and reports for management staff, Finance managers, external auditors and financial institutions.

  • You will reconcile the financial data between SAP and local ERP; preparing accurate and timely monthly reports/analysis, RSD schedules, account reconciliations, forecast and commentary

  • You will reconcile bank accounts to general ledger and analyze discrepancies to make appropriate corrections.

  • You will reconcile fixed assets, prepaid assets and accrued expenses on a monthly basis.

  • You will assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the activities of the Finance department. Ensure we are in compliance and with strong financial controls and support needs of greater Division Finance team.

  • You will perform Adhoc financial analyses supporting Division Finance department and budget owners.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • University degree in accounting or business from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of accounting experience within the manufacturing and/or technology industry

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and/ or MBA preferred

  • Experience using SAP, Longview, Syteline, and People Soft/ Oracle

  • Knowledge of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
