Business Unit Manager - Critical Power Solutions

Possible locations: Morges, Switzerland OR Helsinki, Finland

This role is responsible to develop and implement the overall business strategy to support achievement of the CPS (Critical Power Solutions) organization’s step change growth and financial and organizational goals as defined by the profit and strategic plans.

To lead and direct all operational activities for the Critical Power Solutions Product business within Power Quality Division, EMEA.

Member of the senior leadership team for the Power Quality and Electronics Division in EMEA.

The position will work closely with both direct and matrixed leadership teams to ensure that financial, growth and team development objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides to the organization the vision, and strategic leadership to develop the business unit to its full potential

  • Develop and execute the strategic direction and plans for the Product Lines, aligned with the overall business strategic direction in order to support Eaton’s growth ambition; effectively plan a go-to-market strategy;

  • Provides guidance and leadership to staff in the development and deployment of business plans and operations. Translates strategic plans into action plans that fit the needs of the business.

  • Stays informed of market and customer trends in order to anticipate developments and plan accordingly.

  • Ensure an innovation pipeline is maintained and nurtured. Assure that Eaton IP is protected (patents).

  • Identifies and develop possibilities for future business growth, including possible acquisitions, bringing them to the attention to the relevant team for further investigation and possible next steps

  • Ensures customer satisfaction, high levels of service and promote continuous improvement efforts in order to drive repeated business and customer loyalty.

  • Drive alignment of a marketing strategy together with electrical sector marketing and global product line (GPL). Define and lead product promotion activities.

  • Practices performance based management by coaching and developing direct employees and leads by example. Lead, manage, inspire and motivate front end teams, according to new Eaton Leadership Model and growth ambitions;

  • Effectively builds a high potential leadership team and organization capability

  • Effectively collaborates across functions (working in the matrix) to build joint objectives to reach divisional goals.

  • Acts as a role model for Eaton's ethical standards of business conduct.

Qualifications

  • MBA or Master Degree in Engineering or Business Management

  • Minimum of 10 years business management experience

  • 10+ years of experience managing people

  • Understanding of specific markets and products

  • Previous sales experience desirable

  • Excellent executive level communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written

  • Experience leading complex programs in a matrix environment

  • Proven Leadership skills – capability of leading change in an integrated team environment across multiple teams

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • Demonstrated experience in developing business strategy, planning, and budgeting.

  • Ability to travel globally up to 50% of the time
