Eaton Corporation Lead UX Designer in Moon Township, Pennsylvania
Eaton’s Industrial Sector is currently seeking a Lead UX Designer to join our team. This position is based at our Southfield MI, Galesburg MI or Moon Township PA facility.
As a User Experience (UX) lead, you help define and drive the future of Eaton UX design. You identify and help set design strategy, envision complex UX ecosystems and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You possess a clear vision of the future of user experience and have the courage to pursue forward-thinking design. In this role, you will apply your passion for brand, craft, and design fidelity to guide research and design processes, mentor talented members of your team, and collaborate with leaders of product teams to create innovative experiences across all of Eaton’s products.
Although Eaton is an established company with a diverse product portfolio, this IoT development exhibits many of the characteristics of a start-up initiative. Essential functions for this role include but are not limited to:
Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team of UX Designers and developers; lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms, and devices.
Execute the UX vision, along with a plan for evolutionary, iterative updates that actualize the larger vision over time.
Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with leaders inside and outside their core UX team to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.
Foster Eaton’s culture and principles within the group, while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence.
Be responsible for and effectively advocate for users in a corporate climate, imparting day-to-day design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, content, business, and engineering.
Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Facilitate product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products.
Conduct detailed UI/UX design reviews, document issues, and coordinate issue resolution

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Design or Computer Science from an accredited institution
Minimum 7+ years of experience as a User Experience Designer, Interaction Designer, or Information Architect
Minimum of 1 years of leading UX teams and strategy
This position requires us of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications: (Not required to be qualified for the role)
Masters in Human-Computer Interaction or related field from an accredited institution
2+ years of leading UX teams and strategy
2+ years’ experience and knowledge of MVC frameworks, web component libraries, HTML, CSS3, JS
5+ years’ experience and knowledge of visual design, web design and wireframing tools, user research methods, digital prototyping tools
3+ years’ experience with Agile development processes
Position Success Criteria:
A portfolio demonstrating compelling information architecture, user experience, and progression from research through production
Demonstrated ability in creating highest quality user experiences
Strong interpersonal skills
Familiarity with web and mobile technologies and their impacts on the feasibility of design solutions
The ability to grasp complex and sometimes diverse customer needs and distill them into clean, understandable solutions.
This position does not entail writing production-quality code, but an understanding of HTML and CSS3 is a must
