Eaton Corporation Plant Manager in Milton, Ontario

Eaton located in Milton, Ontario has an opening for a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager is responsible for managing and directing the Low Voltage Distribution Assembly operation in Milton, Ontario to assure attainment of strategic, operational, financial, quality, and employee-related objectives. This includes supporting the profit plan by effectively managing the operation and resources, focusing on customer service, product quality, product cost, design of products and safety goals while providing strong leadership, mentoring and motivation.


  • Lead and motivate a cross-functional team to achieve market and profitable growth in the manufacturing and assembly of respective products.

  • Direct and establish objectives for site activities which include safety, capacity planning, on-time performance, cycle time, productivity and various other operational metrics for current and forecasted business needs.

  • Direct the customer order engineering, systems, material flow, quality , fabrication and manufacturing operations of the facility to assure cost, quality and service objectives are achieved.

  • Interact with divisional sales/marketing, product engineering, finance and supply chain

  • Provide strong leadership in support of Eaton Business Systems and other operational excellence improvement efforts.

  • Develop and execute strategic capital spending plans to assure adequate capacity to meet division and product line growth objectives.

  • Deploy and support sound human resource policies and practices to assure effective recruiting, training, motivation and retention of personnel; enhance and build organizational capabilities in order to secure robust succession plans.

  • Administer Eaton policies and practices to assure compliance and uniform application under the Eaton vision in support of “doing business right”.

  • Support deployment of MESH procedures and plans to attain a “zero-incident” culture across the location.

  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy and Values as well as the Safety and Environmental standard.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience senior level operations management experience, preferably in a Plant Manager capacity.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Master’s Degree or MBA from an accredited institution is preferred .

  • In-depth knowledge of the product delivery process; specifically manufacturing/assembly and fabrication.

  • Proven experience with manufacturing, quality, engineering and production planning processes, preferably in an Engineered to Order environment.

  • Experience running a fabrication department including paint line.

  • Experience with Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) for facility and equipment.


  • Sound experience and working knowledge of operational excellence tools such as Lean manufacturing, six sigma, SIOP process and application within a manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of safety, Environmental Health & Safety procedures and 5S+.

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills, as well as proven ability building highly engaged teams.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written skills are vital for success in this position.

  • Working knowledge of applicable employment and safety legislation
