Eaton’s Vehicle Division is seeking a Senior Systems Test Engineer. The Senior Systems Test Engineer will be based in Marshall, MI
The Senior Systems Test Engineer will be responsible for the development of test capability for supercharger, torque control, and valve train products. This individual will support the development of test systems (hardware, software, and controls), create and maintain test documentation including test requirements, test procedures, and test reports, and perform data analysis tasks to ensure proper system operation by utilizing real-time and post-processing data analysis tools. The ideal candidate should have industry leading technical abilities and excellent communication skills. This person should have a combination of in-depth knowledge of Test Engineering, Systems Engineering, and solid data-analysis skills.
Work with product engineering to understand customer’s requirements and their implications for testing programs
Develop, execute and document complex test procedures
Identify and propose process improvements within the test engineering organization
Design of test methods and use of special equipment as required
Be responsible for defined projects with moderate to high complexity
Provide timely and effective communications on significant issues or developments
Performs data analysis of high speed test data
Working with industry partners to introduce latest testing and data acquisition technologies locally.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a systems engineer.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering from an accredited institution.
Automotive/Vehicle, Aerospace, or Medical industry experience is preferred.
5 years' experience with controls, software development, test automation, or test equipment design/development.
Working knowledge of automotive industry preferred.
Ability to use CAD program for fixture design and development.
Experience developing data acquisition and control systems using National Instruments and MATLAB respectively.
Knowledge and experience with Vector tools, i.e. CANape and CANalyzer.
Experience writing clear and concise test procedures and SOPs.
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Working knowledge of the evaluation methods in the design, development, and debugging of electronic devices.
Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodologies and processes.
Working knowledge of test tools and equipment to streamline and ensure test coverage and traceability.
Proven ability to define functional processes and ensuring consistent application.
Strong competency in customer focus, leadership, technical/functional excellence and the ability to champion change.
