Eaton Corporation Operations Manager in Los Angeles, California
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading assembly and test operations including, shipping and receiving with output in excess of $140M annually and leadership for salaried and hourly employees. This role drives continuous improvements in production, quality, and safety through the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS). The Operations Manager champions the application of BOS, lean, employee involvement, and teamwork.
Champion a culture change within the workforce of teamwork, employee involvement, and continuous improvement through High Performance Work Teams (HPWTs).
Drive continuous improvement through the use of EBS, Lean, and HPWTs.
Achieve revenue increase through the execution of monthly production plans resulting in on-time delivery performance and reduction of past due backlog.
Effectively manage plant assets through leadership of maintenance and facilities resources.
Achieve labor productivity, reduction of overtime and lead cost reduction efforts to drive factory cost take out.
Manage site capital planning and execution processes.
Lead cross-functional teams to establish processes to improve ATP first pass yield.
Champion implementation of MESH to achieve improvement in year over year safety performance measures.
Champion implementation of Lean in all areas of the offices and factory.
Train and develop the operations team leaders.
MINIMUM (BASIC) QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required in business or related field.
Minimum 5 years experience of managing production in a manufacturing environment.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Master’s Degree preferred
Aerospace experience a plus
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tool sets
Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines
Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic is preferred
Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts (production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving)
