Eaton Corporation Lead Product Engineer in Los Angeles, California

Eaton’s Aerospace Fuel Motion Control Systems division is seeking a Lead Product Engineer to join our team. The position will be based at our Los Angeles, CA facility.

The Lead Product Engineer is responsible for supporting new development and existing design of fluid power and motion control systems and components.

  • You will provide technical design, testing, and guidance for new product development and product improvements.

  • You will work with one or more Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to design, test, and implement product designs and design improvements in all phases of a product design lifecycle.

  • You will guide and participate in efforts to solve problems with product design, inspection, manufacturing, and test encountered by vendors, company operations personnel, and customers.

  • You will support targets and milestones for project budgets and schedules. Participate in resolving program change of scope issues with Engineering Lead and Program Management data and testing, design findings and recommendations to customers and management.

  • You will ensure standardization of products and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects. Support continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures and cording appropriate updates as required.

  • You will create and/or guide the creation of technical documents, including Engineering drawings (following ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards), test procedures, test reports, and design review material. Present product design and substantiating data and testing, design findings and recommendations to customers and management.

  • You will perform component design study and improvement for cost reduction and first pass yield.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Los Angeles, CA 90039 will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical products.

  • Experience in the Aerospace Industry.

  • Experience with Pro/Engineer.

  • Ability to apply of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and perform tolerance stack-up testing.

Position Success Criteria:

  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for engineering design.

  • Experience with working on cross-functional teams.

  • Good technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Ability to adapt and react quickly to internal and external customer demands.
