Eaton Corporation HR Business Partner in Los Angeles, California

Position Overview:

Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to join our team. This position can be based in any Eaton Aerospace US/Mexico location. Fort Worth, TX is preferred.

The primary function for this position is to be a high performing business partner supporting the Aerospace Group; Fluid & Electrical Distribution (FED) Division. The incumbent for this role will be a manager of related activities who ensures the alignment of their area with broader organizational initiatives and objectives. Able to influence outcomes within broad policies. This individual will possess an understanding of business strategies, culture and work to achieve results and is able to execute work beyond the scope of their individual function. Plans, conducts, and coordinates special studies of HR programs and policies. Leads the deployment of programs in supported organization. Conducts need assessments to ascertain organization trends, training and development needs, and deployment of programs to support organizational culture. Analyzes and deploys HR policies, practices, programs to manage talent, drive culture, and align organization for the overall division. As HR Programs leader, the Division HRM will partner with Site HRMs and business operations, to deploy large-scale HR initiatives, programs and processes across the division; develop and deploy standard best practices; coordinate HR Programs and day-to-day personnel activities in accordance with legal, divisional, group and corporate guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Align all HR programs, processes and tools for the Division with both the short/long-term business objectives and action plans with a focus on the Eaton Business System and Leader Profile

  • Act as a business partner, strategic solution provider, advisor and counselor for all FED Growth Initiatives, specifically proving functional leadership for key business initiatives, workforce planning, strategic planning, – both long and short-term objectives, as well as the Interconnect & Power Conversions Business Unit

  • Develops, recommends and implements HR policies and procedures across the Division

  • Understand how HR impacts the business and profitability and develop and deploy people strategies to help achieve business-driven objectives and action plans

  • Facilitates organizational improvement and feedback processes including administration, communication and action-planning connected with the Employee Survey and Employee Listening processes

  • Consults with HR leaders and functional/business leaders on employee/leader development, organization effectiveness, and culture change initiatives

  • Support organizational capability assessments (OCA) to assess pipeline strength, determine skill gaps and identify and support all necessary developmental actions

  • Identify, develop and deploy initiatives and best practices in communications, talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development and total rewards for performance that encourage employee retention, job satisfaction and positive morale

  • Drive the APEX

  • Achieving Performance Excellence management process and tools to help raise the bar for individual performance, measure sustained improvements, goal-setting and provide coaching and feedback improvement

  • In conjunction with the Aerospace TMOE Leader develop and deploy a range of learning and developmental experiences that build the necessary knowledge, skills and values required for organizational success

  • Coach others on how to engage and retain key talent, identify when there is a retention risk and differentiate between wanted and unwanted turnover

  • Coach and educate managers, supervisors and employees on company guidelines, supervision, counseling process, conflict resolution, interpersonal communications and effective group interaction

  • In partnership with Employee Relations ensures compliance with applicable employment laws through appropriate program and process management, as well as ad hoc situation analysis and subsequent plans of actions

  • Provide both remote and on-site support as needed to all regional facilities as needed. Up to an including providing active HRM on-site support for any long-term vacancies and/or to cover short term needs

  • Assists with the onboarding of all HRMs into the Aerospace Group

  • Assist with Labor matter as applicable and required


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of human resources experience with role progression

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate and align policies and practices to the Eaton Business System and Eaton Leader Profile

  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels in a highly-matrixed environment

  • Demonstrate discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment

  • General knowledge of employment laws (such as the ADA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA & Title VII) and ability to apply legal concepts to real world situations

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience

  • Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to pull complex data from assorted sources and systems

  • Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) Program development and deployment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed and required – at least 25% of the time

  • SHRM/HRCI Certification


  • An undergraduate degree is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred
