Eaton Corporation Engineer Product Electrical in Juarez, Mexico
Interprets customer’s specifications, drawings, quotations and by using American and Mexican Electrical Codes prepares electrical and mechanical drawings and the bills of materials for Power Distribution Products as Motor Control Center (MCC), SWGRS, SBDs, and MC’s. in medium voltage and low voltage Product Line ; using ANSI, NEMA, NEC USA and / or UL requirements for international requirements and Mexican Standards ANCE, NOM, CFE, PEMEX and other codes and regulations for Mexican local market.
Provide customer drawings, assembly drawings and bills of materials. Develops and provides one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring information to complete the project for MCC based on product design guidelines, knowledge of applicable codes and standards, and use of appropriate reference documents.
Select all control and protection devices to function as required in assemblies/circuits. Determine proper method for applying, installing and wiring special devices as per customer requirements.
Revise standard and prepare new electrical schematics and connection diagrams.
Assist shop in solving problems related to mechanical assemblies or wiring diagrams or bills of material.
Use appropriate software to accomplish above tasks.
Efficiently resolves discrepancies or deficiencies in the order technical Information.
Leads Team work with colleagues and assistants to assign tasks and develop technical skills to the rest of the team members
Use a variety of software tools to efficiently and accurately prepare all the documents detailed enough to guide the manufacturing process of all project orders assigned.
Owns the “Product Engineering process [IP-200-08]“ and keeps it Updated continuously.
Identify improve opportunities to the “Electrical Design Process” thru standardization, and systematization of the design work procedures reinforce its execution.
Answers to All Quality Audits like ISO900 and EQS or EBS.
Follow All procedures and activities to maintain the drawing’s control following the processes and procedures for the Engineering of the product.
Collaborate with various departments by setting or changing methods, techniques or processes that help the continuous improvement of product quality.
Supervise the work of the electrical and mechanical technicians / drafters.
Identifies the technical requirements which may require an order change and brings this to the attention of the Product Manager.
Provides technical support for the implementation of the change order and ensure its implementation on the Design,
Generates the project bill of materials to meet the customer specifications. And provides it to Purchasing department for timely acquisition. -
Provides information and collaborates with the mechanical design area such that the electrical design can proceed in accordance to schedule.
Expeditiously resolves all technical issues with the customer, Project Management Dept., Manufacturing Dept., supply chain department, Quality and Testing department to meet project schedule milestones.
Conducts all technical communication with the customer / Sales in a timely and professional manner.
Provides timely notification to the Engineering Manager of any deviation from the project schedule related to the engineering effort, that has the adversely potential of impacting the project completion.
Conducts daily walk-throughs of assigned projects in the plant. Advises and resolves all issues encountered during these walk-throughs with the appropriate production area lead personnel.
Perform other associated duties as assigned by supervisor or special requirements of the company..
Assist in Product training, to Engineering and manufacturing technicians as required.
Position requires ability to successfully interact with manufacturing, application engineering, engineering, sales and customers.
Active participation in continues improvements programs and committees.
Comply the Eaton Business System (EBS), in foundations, Planning, Growth, Functional Excellence, Assessment and Learning, mainly in the Eaton Business Excellence (EBE); ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 and its tools (such as: Eaton Quality System (EQS), Eaton Lean System and Six Sigma-ELS, HR Operating Review and Employee Survey.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering of related field from an accredited institution required.
Minimum of 3 years prior Electrical product development environment positions experience in electrical industry or related product and manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 1 years prior first-hand design or applications experience with Power Distribution Equipment.
Acceptable verbal and written communication skills in English-Spanish (60%).

Process for New Product Launch preferable ProLaunch NPI and / or STP.
Software Autodesk Inventor and Autocad Electrical.
