Eaton Corporation Materials Manager – Advanced Replenishment in Irvine, California

Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Irvine, CA location.

Position overview:

Eaton Aerospace has an opening for a Materials Manager – Advanced Replenishment. This position is responsible for leading the strategic roadmap development and deployment of the advanced materials replenishment strategies for purchased parts and manufactured products. The incumbent will be responsible for accelerating the advanced materials replenishment model deployments for all Aerospace sites with a specific focus on consignment (both supplier and customer) and the Make-to-Order(MTO)/Assemble-to-Order(ATO) manufacturing models. Serves as the liaison/partner working closely with the sourcing and procurement team to ensure the consistency of deployment and performance of each supplier that is integrated into the supplier consignment (VMIC) and vendor managed on-site (VMIO) models.

Responsible for partnering with the commodity management team to prioritize the deployment of the Third Party Integrator (3PI) model and ensure its successful implementation. Represents the Aerospace organization as a Materials Management Subject Matter Expert in advanced replenishment systems by developing & deploying standard work and site specific refinements. Partners with the commercial team for the evaluation, preparation and execution of customer consignment programs per the standard materials model plant configuration. Provides training, guidance, and solutions to ensure the effectiveness of advanced replenishment model execution that results in advancing and sustaining KPI’s (customer OTD, Stock Fill Rates & DOH). Engages in CI/Lean Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) aimed at improving material flows, right-sizing inventory levels, driving desired customer service metrics and obtaining positive financial results. Engages with site SCM teams to deliver specific components of the Materials Management Model Plan strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Key contributor to the requirements definition and development of advanced replenishment models.

  • Partner with commodity management and procurement teams to develop the advanced replenishment model implementation roadmap for supplier consignment (VMIC) and vendor managed on premise (VMIO) and drive its deployment execution.

  • Supports site level advanced replenishment model implementations and post implementation site ownership and accountability,

  • Ensures depth, consistency and evolving maturity of deployments across all Aerospace sites.

  • Facilitates the phase out of existing local, non-standard procedures and work instructions while deploying standard advanced replenishment processes.

  • Defines, develops and deploys Materials Model Plant (MMP) policies, procedures, and standard work and documentation via the Community of Practice.

  • Engages in facilitation and support of MMAs, ERP Health, Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) connected with all MMP processes for advanced replenishment.

  • Aligns with and supports operations stakeholders to drive materials presentation and flow standardization enabling improved manufacturing shop floor execution.

  • Back-fills critical plant-based materials roles when deemed necessary on an interim/bridge basis.

  • Partners with the CI Organization to support improvements events. Apply lean foundational tools to key materials replenishment processes, identifying improvement “bursts” and facilitate improvement activities.

  • Supports the site transformation teams of Materials/ERP processes for the Aerospace – specific focus on troubled sites.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Materials, or Business from an accredited institution

  • A minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain Management or Materials Management experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications: (Not required to be qualified for the role)

  • Strong Materials Management Functional Competencies

  • 5+ years of experience in the area of Supply Chain Management or Materials Management in a mixed-model manufacturing environment

  • Experience in Project Management in the area of manufacturing, materials, or supply chain.

  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of QAD Mfg/Pro in a planning, scheduling or execution role.

  • MS/MBA is preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong Training and Knowledge Skills

  • APICS/CPIM certification preferred
