Eaton Corporation Manufacturing Engineer in Irvine, California
Eaton Corporation, the Aerospace Group is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, This position is located in our Irvine, CA location.
This position will be responsible for providing support to new product development activities, providing support to customers, suppliers, partners and internal manufacturing cells and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas.

You will act as a technician liaison between Design Engineering and the production floor, as needed for activities such as problem solving, Kaizen events, set-up reduction, and supplier-related issues
You will provide Engineering expertise as the liaison between Customers and Engineering for both the Aftermarket (FAR part 145 repair station) and the OEM
You will be responsible for driving improvement in the reliability, maintainability and cost effectiveness of aerospace components and subcomponents
You will support new program development and ‘Design for Manufacturability’ reviews and interact with Design Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure design for manufacturability of new products. Participate in design review process, and acts as a liaison for products from inception through shipment to customer.
You will develop, prepare and maintain complete cost efficient manufacturing processes for product hardware of above average complexity in order to meet/exceed the departmental goals of L.U., MPS, and scrap and lead time
You will design and implement routers, operations sketches, fixturing, and gages for safe and efficient manufacture, assembly, inspection and test of custom-engineered aerospace hardware
You will develop and implement, test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions, training materials, technical publications (CMMs)
You will provide support to floor issues with respect to assembly and test areas, as well as aftermarket support. Implement methods and practices to reduce variation
You will assist others in root cause and failure analysis as required and develop root cause and corrective actions to resolve issues involving discrepant product or material
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering,Industrial Technology or Computer Science from an accredited institution is required
Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing environment
Minimum of 1 year of tooling design experience.
Minimum of 1 year of experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Irvine, CA will be considered for this position.

Strong analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects/activities
Sound manufacturing background (Process Programming and Tooling)
Good communication, people & problem solving skills in order to establish and maintain strong & successful customer relationships
Understand shop capacity planning related to equipment, processes and manning
Must be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organizational core competencies
Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) variation and identify impact of tolerance stacks in assemblies
Experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Design for manufacturability experience
Previous operations or manufacturing engineering experience
Experience in the use of CAD, CATIA, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Lean practitioner and Six sigma black belt
Mechanical Engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering
5 years of tooling design experience
