Eaton Corporation Production Supervisor 3rd Shift in Horseheads, New York
Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for 3rd Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Horseheads, New York facility.

You will proactively implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment. Lead manufacturing team in achieving production schedule and exceeding customer expectations. Fully engage workforce and drive change by empowering business partners with decision making and involvement.
You will foster innovation and promote continuous learning and lean manufacturing. Facilitate and advise employees within the assigned department to meet value stream goals, departmental goals, and plant goals. Maintain good employee relations and adherence to the Union-Management Labor Contract, and take proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required.
You will support activities to reduce past due customer orders, scrap, rework and overtime cost while meeting quality objectives. Drive activities to improve on-time delivery, labor utilization, and productivity. Conduct process checks within areas of responsibility and monitor performance to establish standard work formats and daily production goals.
You will train, evaluate, coach, and develop subordinates utilizing the Continuous Improvement Framework Management System to help them meet established objectives and improve their overall performance and competencies. Direct problem solving activities using 8D methodology.
You will maintain and consistently administer local policies to meet day to day operating requirements. Ensure that the Eaton Leadership Model and Leader Attributes are integrated into the culture. Conduct weekly team meetings to communicate vision, mission and priorities while encouraging improvement ideas from team. Lead and attend daily Tier Meetings at both shift and department levels. Responsible to communicate all pertinent information to incoming and off going shift Leadership.
You will train, evaluate and review operator certifications and cross-training. Knowledgeable in Collective Bargaining Agreement. Ensure attendance and pay records are kept up to date and are accurate for assigned personnel. Includes OT equalization per CBA language. Supervise daily activity of Cycle Counting.
You will effectively communicates with the department engineers, planning and maintenance to support plant and departmental goals. Resolve daily safety issues, quality problems, production demand issues, and customer commitment requirements. Lead departmental projects/Kaizens in support of goals.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 50 miles from the Horseheads, NY facility to be considered.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience with CNC Programming and electronics assembly.
Experience with lean manufacturing.
Experience leading Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping events and using lean tools to improve processes.
Experience working in a union environment.
Position Success Criteria:
In-depth knowledge and implementation experience with production processes, manufacturing methods, quality, continuous improvement and lean as it applies to the manufacturing operation.
Ability to lead, train and motivate production team.
Hourly workforce performance management experience.
Labor relations experience, managing a team under a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Comfortable being the Company Agent, carrying messages from Sr. Leadership to the shop floor even in instances where that message differs from personal opinion.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to be able to respond and deal with diverse employee-related situations (recruitment, discipline, changes in priorities).
Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and specified information.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software package.
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and project management skills and applications.
Proficient computer-systems knowledge and application skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
