For our ESS Systems & Solutions Business Unit, part of the Power Distribution Division EMEA, we are looking for a:
Plant Manager Hengelo - ESS - Power Distribution Division
Location: Hengelo, Netherlands
Our Hengelo site employs around 600 people excluding our temporary staff. Our product portfolio covers medium voltage and low voltage systems & services for switching, distributing and protecting electrical energy for a data-center, hospital, heavy industry or oil & gas platform.
As Plant Manager Hengelo you will manage and direct plant operations, including the key manufacturing processes of the plant. Furthermore, you will lead the plant’s strategic planning/execution processes and commitment to building organizational capability. You are responsible for supporting positive employee relations and you are the “face of Eaton” both within the facility as well as in the community.
You will work within the local Operations Management Team in Hengelo, Divisional Leadership team and other senior Leaders within and outside Eaton.
Ensure an effective implementation of all logistic activities, particularly in the materials management, controlling, logistics and HR management.
Represent the corporation in community service and professional organizations.
Conduct meetings on a regular basis with employees to ensure communication of operational objectives and has regular contact to the local works council.
Recruit, motivate and develop plant staff level personnel for job enrichment and promotional opportunities.
Conduct scheduled Management Reviews to review prior performance and to plan future activities. Assure prompt and accurate reporting systems
Participate in employee representative consultations, pay talks and other union related obligations as needed.
Ensure the deployment of the Eaton Business System and lean tools throughout the plant. Develop and implement improvements in production methods, standards and procedures to ensure effective use of resources.
Leverages resources and motivates manufacturing employees in order to create a high performance work culture.
Review the plant safety program to minimize employee risk and injury. Provide a safe working environment.
Bachelor degree in technical field. Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and/or Business/General Management, MBA preferred.
At least 10 year experience in management and leadership of complex site operations.
Understanding key financial metrics, strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Operational knowledge and special experiences in manufacturing & engineering processes, Lean Production and Lean Management understanding.
Credible and influencing leadership and strong work Ethics and standards
International exposure preferred; previous supervisory and international management experience is a plus;
High degree of organizational skills; ability to plan, organize, build effective teams and drive for results.
Strong communication skills, intercultural awareness and ability to work with and motivate people not reporting directly.
Highly motivated team player with hands-on mentality and managerial courage
Change Management agent and competent decision maker
Strong language capability in English and Dutch/German preferred.
