Eaton Corporation Lean Manufacturing Engineer in Hastings, Nebraska

Eaton has an immediate opening for a Lean Analyst role located in Hastings, NE.

Support production by training Frontline Leaders and operators on use of Lean tools; conducting lean events such as Kaizens, and Value Stream Mapping, (VSM’s), and Rapid Improvement Events, (RIE’s) with Frontline leaders, Engineers, Quality Analysts, and operators; maintain lean records. Prepare for and manage Lean audits.

  • Champion and actively participates in the facilitation of the following initiatives for the facility: Eaton Values and Philosophy, Ethics, Diversity, APEX, OCA, EPWP, and E-STAR.

  • Champion and actively participates in the following environmental health and safety initiatives: MESH, ISO14001, VPP and other safety / environmental programs established for the facility for a safe work environment. Ensures that all direct reports are trained in the applicable environmental, health and safety practices.

  • Champion and actively participates in the following quality initiatives / programs: Eaton Quality System (EQS), TS16949, and etc.

  • Collaborates in the development and execution of facility profit plan objectives and balanced scorecards.

Essential Functions:

  • Trains Frontline Leaders, Engineers, QA, Staff, and Operators in use of Lean Tools

  • Coordinates Lean events with Frontline Leaders, Engineers, QA, Staff, and operators

  • Responsible for maintaining and storing documentation for Lean audits

  • Responsible for submitting cost savings related to Lean manufacturing

  • Champions Lean Audits within the plant, coordinating Champions and owners for each Lean tool.

  • Plans and coordinates Kaizen Events, VSM’s, RIE’s and assures that all Safety procedures are followed.

  • Works with other Eaton facilities to benchmark or be benchmarked in areas of lean manufacturing, 6S, and other continuous improvement activities.

  • Provides assistance to production personnel in implementing improvement ideas and other resources they may need.

  • Teams with Mini-Plants to drive CI and the CI Foundation.

  • Follows all environmental health and safety procedures and practices to assure a safe work environment. Identifies and corrects unsafe conditions or practices to assure a safe work environment for all employees.

  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.

  • Minimum of 3 months of experience in Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement within a manufacturing and/or operations environment.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt certification

  • ASQ CQE certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Previous leadership experience

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Working knowledge of the use of problem solving tools

  • Project management skills
