EIIC is establishing state of the art integrated Test Lab at Magarpatta Campus to effectively leverage virtual and physical prototyping & testing capabilities while driving organic growth. Phase I of integrated Test lab is already operational and this position & phase II is expected to be operational in 2018.

This Senior Engineer Position is part of Test Lab & is primarily responsible for installation and maintenance of utilities, tool room & test stand machinery etc. in coordination with test lab teams at EIIC. The incumbent will own execution and sustenance of facilities projects by managing resources, both internal and external, to ensure effective utilization of test lab equipment by minimizing equipment down time. The position is also responsible for establishing safe work environment working with MESH manager and look for continuously improving the work systems through problem solving, ELS techniques and through deployment of TPM/RCM and Quality Management System. The position requires to :

a) Support in planning and execution of new equipment purchase & erection

b) Support installation and commissioning of facility, test equipment and utilities working with vendors, consultant and EIIC test lab teams

c) Plan & coordinate with resources, both internal and external, for various maintenance activities at test lab

d) Establish standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides for regular maintenance activities inline to MESH guidelines

e) Support Job Safety Analysis for each of the test operations working with test lab team and safety team and deploy necessary safety improvement opportunities in line to Eaton’s MESH / LSR guidelines etc.

f) Promote and sustain ELS disciplines and improvements. Ensure that standardized practices are followed where applicable

g) Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe work environment and champion at least one element mentioned in MESH

h) Provide strong leadership to develop a participative and continuous improvement culture in the organization

i) Plan and establish maintenance budget requirements as part of profit plan

List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results), which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.

As a responsible critical position to ensure equipment uptime this position requires to:

  • Establish detailed TPM/RCM action plan for each equipment and ensure to meet the TPM activity to up keep the equipment for effective utilization

  • Evaluate opportunities for improvement in equipment maintenance and deploy best processes across the businesses to reduce test setup time, maintenance time etc.

  • Develop, write and maintain SOP for maintenance activities. Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work / process design changes as appropriate

  • Work with MESH team to establish required database for waste management and establish required process for effective waste management inline to Eaton’s MESH requirements

  • Work with test lab team and evaluate required suppliers, vendor etc. for technical capabilities prior to award of outsourced tasks

  • Understand various programming and control algorithms i.e. PLC & electronics for equipment function and ensure service & maintenance of the same working with Engineering teams and external suppliers

  • Support facility safety initiatives and wellness committee as required from time to time

  • Implement and deploy corrective actions to ensure compliance with Quality management systems, OSHA regulations, all Statutory regulations and Local laws as applicable from equipment maintenance point of view

  • EIIC targets on utilization of equipment through OEE

  • Continuous improvement through KAIZENS for cost reduction & productivity improvement etc.

  • Manage maintenance expenses as per profit plan

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering with minimum 6-8 years relevant hands experience in maintenance function

  • Past experience in Green field project execution is desirable

  • Past experience in LEAN tool deployment for continuous improvements in utilization and cost savings

  • Proven experience in TPM deployment for industrial machinery and experience in ISO 9001:2008, TS 16949 deployment

  • Demonstrated experience in reconditioning/up gradation of heavy industrial equipment / test rigs, tool room and supporting utilities
