Eaton Corporation Lead Engineer- Materials & Metallurgist in Hadapsar Pune, India
List the essential functions:
Key member of Integrated Manufacturing Processes team to develop materials & processing by integrating computational as well as experimental aspects
Experience in process metallurgy with good understanding of conventional (casting, rolling, forging etc.) as well as advanced manufacturing technologies (metal 3D printing, MIM, etc)
Work on materials aspects like surface engineering of metals and alloys by different coating/processing technologies for corrosion/wear resistant applications
Work on new metal alloys for cost out aspects by checking its static and dynamic properties for an applications.
Work with different BUs and develop new proposals after understanding their requirements
PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy or Materials Engineering with emphasis on process and chemical metallurgy. with minimum two years of relevant industrial experience
Strong academic and career focus on advanced and emerging metal manufacturing methods such as additive manufacturing, thermo-mechanical processing, liquid and vapor phase processes, multi-material and dissimilar material joining, and multi-step chemical conversion processes.
Hands-on experience in characterization of ferrous and nonferrous metals using light microscopy, SEM, EDS, EBSD, and other normal evaluation tools.
Hands on experience in characterizing performance and fatigue properties of ferrous and nonferrous metals
Good understanding of “Integrated Computational Material Engineering – ICME”, including thermodynamic programs such as Thermocalc, phase fields (Moose, PRISMs), etc.
Knowledge and experience with metal matrix composites, in particular metal matrix nano-composites is also desired
