Eaton Corporation Assembly Technician II - 2nd Shift Shipping in Greenwood, South Carolina

Eaton has an immediate opening for an Assembly Technician II - Non Seg Bus Shipping -1st shift located in Greenwood, SC.

Essential Functions:

  • All employees are expected to comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines.

  • Work to manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, written or oral instruction from supervisor or engineering and to established procedures.

  • Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembling.

  • Responsible for identifying nonconforming parts and troubleshooting errors. May be required to perform hypot test on assemblies.

  • Use various fixtures, gauges and assembly tools to assemble, adjust or repair assemblies. Use of layout, drill, saw, punch, rivet and paint material as required.

  • Apply identification labeling on completed assemblies as required.

  • Manage shipment process for final products shipped to external customers and prepare assemblies for shipment or storage, as appropriate.

  • Maintain monthly Freight on Board (FOB) process.

  • Schedule dedicated trucks for shipping and delivery while managing costs and logistics.

  • Analyze premium freight to maintain accurate amounts of PF costs.

  • Confirm customer orders in Vista system to ensure shipment credits are earned for the business.

  • Assemble and mount equipment for assembly and customer service orders.

  • Pack, crate, and band items together for shipment. Include proper identification on packing material.

  • Select and pack appropriate literature, shipping lists, and instruction booklets.

  • Build crates for shipping products, as appropriate.

  • Sort, weigh and complete all shipping orders. Request release for shipment from LVB.

  • Maintain records of material shortages, reworks and assemblies completed then relay to production operator.

  • Load assemblies and materials onto trucks.

  • Move material manually using a variety of material handling equipment. May be required to push, pull and rotate up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. May be required to climb platform to assemble or repair units and to retrieve material from Kan Ban racks.

  • Apply product labeling for identification before moving to shipping.

  • Complete checklists and feedback forms for finished product.

  • Use fixtures, gauges and measuring instruments for the purpose of holding, drilling

  • and measuring assembly accuracy.

  • Use drill press, table saw, and beveling machine to drill, cut and form bus.

  • Ability to use hand grinders, torque guns, and pneumatic equipment to perform basic functions such as hole reaming, basic sanding, and bolt assembly.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience.

  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship

  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius from worksite

Qualifications Preferred

  • 2 year degree in manufacturing discipline

  • 3 years of manufacturing experience

  • 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving

  • Forklift experience
