Eaton Corporation Senior Engineer-Noise Vibration and Harshness in Galesburg, Michigan
Eaton’s Vehicle division is seeking a Senior Engineer-Noise Vibration and Harshness to join our team. The position will be based at our Galesburg, MI facility.
The Senior Engineer-Noise Vibration and Harshness is responsible to create program goals, organize projects, and develop standards and guidelines related to the physical science. In accomplishing the primary function this role directly interfaces with customers for problem solving, product improvement, and cost reduction issues.

You will apply technical expertise to identify and implement improvements to the value of existing products within their system or by changing the system to improve product value as it relates to noise, vibration, and dynamics issues.
You will identify additional value-added opportunities within the system.
You will recommend changes to current experimental or test procedures and develops new procedures for the continuous improvement of the engineering process to insure quality system requirements are maintained.
You will serve as an internal consultant in the noise, vibration, and dynamics technical discipline.
You will be regarded as a local expert and provides advice and council to others in current technologies.
You will identify new technology advancement opportunities in the noise, vibration, and dynamics field in response to customer and market needs.
You will develop solutions or improves existing products, or components in response to these needs.
You will maintain vigilance and advises Eaton of any regulatory activities related to these technological sciences.
You will comply with requirements of the Quality and Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 1 year of Noise and Vibration test and/or Experimental Study Techniques experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience with component and system acoustic assessment and treatment, including development of technical solutions for these issues.
Vehicle Powertrain NVH experience, with an emphasis on rotating machinery.
Experience with Siemens LMS Test.Lab; structural (modal) response testing and optimization; addressing speed synchronous order related phenomena; head Acoustics, B&K, Rotec, and/or Mueller systems; and pass-by noise measurement techniques.
Position Success Criteria:
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
