Eaton Corporation Business Operations Manager in Fayetteville, North Carolina
This position is responsible for overall leadership and management of the design, configuration and manufacturing of Industrial Controls Division (ICD) electrical assemblies at the Fayetteville North Carolina facility. In the role the ICD Business Operations Manager will directly manage the custom order engineering and design of products to be released to manufacturing. This includes oversight of the production loading associated with products, drawing schedules and requirements in the management of the Customer Service activities of the operation. The operations manager will also have overall responsibility for leading plant teams in achieving the manufacturing of ICD products including acting as a champion for safety and driving safety performance, product quality, on-time delivery, productivity and employee engagement.
The Fayetteville NC business includes both ICD and Power Distribution Control Assembly Division (PDCAD) businesses. As a result this role will be a member of the overall plant leadership team and leverage resources across both divisions to accomplish its goals, including achieving or exceeding financial plans and developing a high performing learning culture.
Develop and communicate initiatives to measure and improve key business drivers (i.e., Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Productivity, Inventory, Growth, Profitability and Development of People) consistent with the Eaton Business System, Eaton Values and Philosophy.
Review and execute competitive, long and short term business plans for each product line which include dynamic market strategies, upgrading engineering and manufacturing technologies, as well as organizational restructuring.
Develop and communicate ICD business plans to meet or exceed forecast/plan. Ensure alignment between engineering, supply chain, production and quality departments based on plans.
Oversee and manage the electrical and mechanical definition and design of products to meet customer and manufacturing schedules.
Facilitate and direct the analysis of the Product backlog. Drive the SIOP process, including monthly order profiles, labor estimations, and milestone OTP to drive the improvement of key performance indicators
Establish and maintain acceptable customer service standards with respect to negotiation lead times, product lead times, drawing turnaround time and warranty claims.
Partner with Product Line Sales and Marketing in establishment and execution of ICD product and customer strategies.
This includes hosting customer visits and inspections at the facility.
Drive continuous improvement and cost out projects that eliminate waste from the engineering and manufacturing of products.
Manage, direct, plan and coordinate (through Manufacturing Supervisors) the manufacturing activities for in order to meet operational goals.
As a member of the plant leadership team participate in plant wide initiatives such as audits, positive culture building, community outreach, and planning and decision making around matters concerning financial and operational problems, inventory control, plant policy, facility/maintenance issues, and staffing. Central to these will be to support the robust safety culture in Fayetteville by promoting safe behaviors and conditions at all times in ICD, and the entire Fayetteville facility.
Support the identification, development, and drive implementation of new manufacturing methods, equipment, material planning, quality improvement, and Lean and Six Sigma methods.
Minimum (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience within a minimum or 3 years in a leadership role
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
Experience in creating, developing and executing short and long-term strategic plans and effective implementation across cross functional & electrical businesses.
Demonstrated ability to build, communicate and execute a vision for strategic and operational change and will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills.
Ability to lead business initiatives to drive growth and profitability.
Accomplished in meeting and exceeding the expectations and requirements of customers.
Can get others on board, engaged and committed to objectives; can overcome resistance.
Product and operations management experience. Product launch and product engineering experience is a plus.
Expertise in budget management and driving year over year improvement of financial metrics.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or business from an accredited institution.
MBA or advanced degree from an accredited institution.
Eaton Business System experience or experience with execution of similar business system.
Experience as a business and/or site lead, or leader of a large department/workforce.
Electrical industry and/or similar manufacturing with background in Engineered to Order (ETO) products.
