Eaton’s $2B Hydraulics business serves global and diverse markets and customers with four major product lines: Power & Motion Controls, Fluid Conveyance, Golf Grip, and Filtration. 75% of the hydraulics business is focused on mobile segments (joystick controls, gear pumps, manifolds) and 25% on stationary segments (coolers, cylinders, piston & vane pumps). Eaton’s Hydraulics Division is seeking a Strategic Global Product Leader in our Eden Prairie, MN office. This position is responsible for the Controls product business in the Power & Motion Controls (PMC) Product Portfolio. You will lead a team of Global Product Managers and completes the strategic planning and superior product line management for the Controls product family. You’ll be responsible for implementing our 2020 growth strategies to drive product profitability, volume, mix, market share improvement, and strategic pricing globally. Key responsibilities include: product life-cycle management, product branding, competitive intelligence, rationalization, footprint, strategic pricing and product strategy & road-maps on a global basis. This position has global responsibility.
Develop and collaborate with a team of subject matter experts who support the Controls products: Sales, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
Analyze market & customer needs and lead team to develop business cases and product strategies for new product development, strategic alliances, and other business development activity.
Acquire & retain comprehensive knowledge of competitive positioning and competitor strategies.
Responsible for product strategies/road-maps, including positioning; managing product, segment & channel mix; and developing targeted value propositions while monitoring / addressing product life cycles.
Develop and provide leadership for global core pricing strategy.
Monitor product portfolio for the product lines and recommend changes to meet Eaton top and bottom line objectives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Category team to propose prioritization of product development and growth activities.
Interface with regional Eaton teams, distributors and customers to drive the organic growth strategies.
Support the development and deployment of strategic marketing programs to drive organic sales for the assigned product categories.
Provide consolidated product portfolio reporting to the business unit leadership team and be prepared to address product line specific issues and lead monthly Product Category reviews.
Responsible for product management related items for integration activities when acquisitions are being integrated.
Focus on increasing our share in underserved market, globally.
Develop manufacturing footprint strategies based on customer/market requirements.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
8 years of product management experience
5 years of management of people experience
Must be legally authorized to work in US without sponsorship.
10 years of product management experience within Eaton
