Eaton Corporation Quality Technician - 1st Shift in Cleveland, Tennessee

Eaton located in Cleveland, TN has an opening for a Quality Technician on 1st Shift

Position Overview:

The quality technician is a vital position within the Quality Department. This technician will have regular contact with customers and suppliers, provide floor leadership by assisting associates with quality issues and be expected to lead quality initiatives and assist in ISO, EQS and Fresh Eyes audits. Also, this person must have the ability to train and mentor other associates in problem solving techniques. Experience in multiple distribution related functions will benefit the candidate in completion of core responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Containment and Root Cause Analysis of Quality Errors/Defects using 8D & A3

  • Lead Internal Audit Process. Ability to learn Eaton Quality System (EQS)

  • Process quality related customer returns (Type2), Annual returns (Type5) and Change overs (Type7). Assist in productivity improvement and scrap reduction.

  • Coordinate product testing with Van Wert Engineering and/or suppliers

  • Document Control (ISO/EQS)

  • Final Inspection of shipments (contain failures and prevent shipment of quality errors)

  • Complete customer and supplier PPAPs

  • Assist with gage control and calibration

  • Address quality issues that arise during order fulfillment processes.

  • WISPER PPAP Maintenance (suppliers)

  • Incoming Inspection of materials

  • Issue DMR’s to suppliers for nonconforming product and follow up until closure

  • Issue Quality Alerts and communicate to all internal associates

  • Send Certifications of Conformance as requested


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED from an accredited institution is required.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of the Cleveland, TN facility will be considered.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Aptitude for problem solving and customer orientated

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Access, Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Strong oral & written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and be able to interpret technical specifications

  • Adjust priorities based on customer needs – flexible and cross-trained

  • Takes ownership of personal development and ongoing learning
