Eaton Corporation Senior EHS Specialist in Auburn, Indiana
Eaton’s Vehicle Division is currently seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Auburn, Indiana facility.
The Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting the management of environmental, health, and safety processes at the Eaton manufacturing facility in Auburn, IN. The Sr. EHS Specialist supports the creation of a strong culture that engages employees in the achievement of the company’s goal of zero EHS incidents. The Sr. EHS Specialist is also responsible for developing and implementing programs for the facility to meet the regulations set forth by government agencies and Eaton.

You will support the EHS Manager in the deployment of EHS targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS culture, compliance and results.
You will support Safety and Emergency Response committees to assure optimum performance, development and deployment of EHS policies and initiatives.
You will utilize the company’s EHS database (MESH PRISM) to manage data related to EHS incidents, consumption of natural resources such as water and waste, and EHS action plans.
You will maintain positive relations with the UAW bargaining unit while contributing to the attainment of the strategic and profit plans and working within the principles of the Eaton philosophy.
You will support the EHS Manager and EHS Element Champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance with Federal, State, local and company EHS requirements.
You will support the efforts, achievement, and maintenance of third-party recognition- such as OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs and ISO 14001 – that establish Eaton’s EHS program as world class.
You will support the development and maintenance of training processes to ensure required EHS training is defined, relevant and is tracked to completion.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental, occupational health and/or safety programs within a manufacturing environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Master’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Science from an accredited institution.
Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, occupational health and/or safety programs within a manufacturing environment.
Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
