Eaton Corporation Engineering Manager in Auburn, Indiana

Eaton’s Vehicle Group division is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Auburn, IN facility.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the engineering department at the Auburn facility. You will actively support and strive to meet the strategic goals set by yourself, the facility and Eaton Corporation.

  • Manage product, process, plant, manufacturing, assembly and engineering projects with the goal to improve process capabilities, drive down cost and improve ease of manufacturing.

  • Direct capital projects for the Auburn site utilizing the PROLaunch project management tool as needed. This includes annual budget preparation, planning and execution.

  • Manage an engineering team on project components in order to maintain timelines, project initiatives and cost structures. You will be responsible for delegating project workloads and allocating resources to accomplish desired results.

  • Support all departments with improving safety, quality, delivery, inventory and flex productivity. This can be accomplished through many means, such as; capital expenditures, process check documentation, value stream mapping, RIE/kaizen events, tooling design improvements, process improvements, manufacturing recommendations, capacity improvements etc.

  • Participate in production decisions involving new and existing product lines to assess/improve equipment & capacity.

  • Lead all engineering related communication flow and coordination among resources to ensure cost, quality and delivery objectives are met (internal, external, product engineering, etc.)

  • Promote effective employee relations by providing leadership, coaching and development to the engineering team.

  • Ensure all regulatory standards and company policies are understood, supported and followed by engineering personnel and on the production floor.

  • Evaluate reports, decisions and results of departmental concerns in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvement in production efficiency and customer.

  • Lead a MESH (Safety) category that supports the plants safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Background in automotive/truck industry preferred

  • Proven record with project management implementation and techniques

  • Capital project experience

  • IATF/TS Audit Exposure

  • Lean/Six Sigma Certifications
