Eaton Corporation MVD Product Manager in Arden, North Carolina

Eaton’s Engineering Systems and Services group is currently seeking an MVD Product Manager to join our Power Distribution Control and Assembly team. This position is based at our Arden, NC location.

Position Overview :

The MVD Product Manager provides leadership in formulation of product line strategy and action programs to enhance sales growth and profitability including new business development for the Medium Voltage Drives product line. The Product Manager must have an excellent knowledge of the types of customers the product line deals with (Contractors, Industrial, OEM), as well as a thorough understanding of the dynamics of selling engineered assemblies. Leads all aspects of the Medium Voltage Drives product line.

Essential Functions:

  • You will provide product application knowledge, customer interface, and develops and executes tactical and strategic plans to support the product line's goals.

  • You will utilize understanding of product technically to generates customer and technical presentations. Supports and develops training programs, and the development of marketing collateral to enhance market penetration goals.

  • You will lead sales and marketing aspects of MV Drives. Must exhibit a willingness and ability to provide a leadership role within the department. Provides cross-functional coordination on product line programs to optimize customer service and market penetration.

  • You will be involved in new product development, strategic direction planning for the product line, and implementation of new product and services launch plans.

  • You will need to have a working knowledge of the overall sales function, customer channels, and negotiation techniques and must be able to manage division, customer and departmental resources to maximize growth opportunities.

  • Answers application questions, develops and implements growth plans, provides sales support, conducts competition/ market analysis to drive product development efforts. Develops marketing collateral to educate and inform sales and customers of solutions Eaton Corporation has to offer relative to MV Drives.

  • You will complete monthly reporting duties of reporting backlog & product sales of MV Drives for monthly/quarterly needs. Is responsible for proactively developing content for eaton.com website, social media platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) and other digital marketing platforms.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum 5 years prior experience in Medium Voltage Control products and / or Application Engineering required.

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years engineering experience in medium voltage control applications, including medium voltage variable frequency drives

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, marketing or business management (MBA)

  • Experience publishing professional digital content on social media

  • Experience with Autocad, Power BI

Position Criteria:

  • Knowledge of medium voltage drive applications and industries/segments which they are applied

  • Strong product application knowledge, customer interface, and the ability to develop and execute tactical and strategic plans to support the product line's goals are a key ingredient for this person.

  • Demonstrated ability to generate customer and technical presentations, as well as product technical expertise is required.

  • The Product Manager interacts frequently with Field Sales, User Customers, Consultants, OEMs, Contractors, and Distributors.

  • Strong teamwork skills are necessary.

  • The Product Manager is involved in new product development, strategic direction planning for the product line, and implementation of new product and services launch plans.

  • Must be able to work independently and innovatively to meet the overall goals of the Product Line.

  • Provides cross-functional coordination on product line programs to optimize customer service and market penetration.

  • Candidate must possess a good understanding of technical applications.

  • Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of the overall sales function, customer channels, and negotiation techniques and must be able to manage division, customer and departmental needs to maximize Eaton’s ability to obtain new business.

  • Must exhibit a willingness and ability to provide a leadership role within the department.

  • Duties include, but are not limited to, answering application questions, developing and implementing growth plans, providing sales support, conducting competition/ market analysis to drive product development efforts, support and development of training programs, and the development of marketing collateral to enhance market penetration goals.

  • Duties also include providing marketing leadership in the Product Roadmapping, ProLaunch, Advisory Board, and Business System (including Bid Manager) development processes.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

  • Computer skills -- MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).

  • Some travel required
