Eaton Corporation Assembler - Furniture in Worcester, Massachusetts

Eaton in Worcester, MA is hiring a full time Assembler position on 1st shift.

Job Functions:

  • Perform operations required to assemble and pack various products including operation of equipment in accordance with customer orders.

  • Interpret a wide variety of customer specified configurations to assemble a more complex product.

  • Organize and plan material supply and flow.

  • Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions.

  • Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S.

  • Assist team in achieving plant and department goals.

  • Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement

  • Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.

  • Checks completed parts to ensure compliance to Worcester Plant Quality standards and makes necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Criteria:

  • Must be able to lift parts up to 35 pounds, and may require frequent standing or bending.

  • Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.

  • Ability to read and follow standard work.

  • Ability to use measuring tape, hand and power tools, and saw.

  • Ability to use a square, fixed gages, and work from simple drawings.

  • Ability to use good judgment and problem solving skills to make informed decisions.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively across all levels.

  • Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or engineering drawings.

  • Complex assembly and configuration skills.

  • Knowledge of basic shop math.

  • Basic knowledge of windows based operating systems.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of one years experience in assembly

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two year experience in assembly in a manufacturing environment

  • Vocational certificate preferred

  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems such as KANBAN, JIT, Production Scheduling
