Eaton Corporation Site Facilities Manager in Wadeville, South Africa

Eaton Electrical is searching for a Site Facilities Manager to be based in Wadeville, Johannesburg.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • The site facilities management function includes responsibility for the security, maintenance and services of work facilities to ensure that they meet the needs of the organization and its employees.

  • The primary functions of this role can be divided into two subcategories, i.e. maintenance management and secondly security management.

  • Maintenance management includes planning of maintenance activities, budgeting for maintenance projects, management of the on-site maintenance team and management of subcontractors.

  • Security management includes the further roll-out and maintenance of the Eaton security policies and systems.

  • This function also supports the safety function and will be heavily involved in site legal requirements including but not limited to waste management fire safety and electrical safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintenance management:

  • Planning and budgeting for building and grounds maintenance activities across the campus

  • Management of Cleaning activities and subcontractors

  • Management of on-site maintenance team, including planning, defining KPIs, measurement of KPIs and development of team

  • Legal appointee (16.2) and project lead on maintenance projects on site where responsibilities will include subcontractor management with focus on safety, quality, adherence to budget and schedule adherence

  • Space management, including planning for future expansion and managing building upgrades

  • Measurement and reporting of key safety and environmental performance indicators

  • Leasing with local municipality on electricity, water and waste issues

  • Management of emergency backup equipment

Security management:

  • Security Management of the campus by further rolling out Eaton’s Security processes and policies

  • Reporting of security incidents to your immediate Manager and Functional Report (EMEA)

  • Leading investigations on any security incidents at the site

  • Managing training of all Security personnel on our Emergency and Disaster Management systems

Manage Security by doing audits on our systems and procedures, this includes adhoc after hour

  • Visits to the factory

  • Be Pro-active and review current processes for improvements.

  • Shut down and Lock out procedures for the factory and office block

  • Security Management of Finished Goods Area

  • Review camera footage / minimize theft opportunities

  • Coordinate security activities and communicate critical security information with Eaton’s management

  • To ensure strict adherence of all security regulations across all departments in the factory

  • Perform audits on the security operations

  • To liaise with all appropriate local and national government law enforcement agencies

  • To employ the appropriate security service providers and set the performance requirements

  • Ensure the operation of the security system in accordance with the rules and procedures

Manage the preparation and implementation of the security budget

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong organizational and management skills

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

  • Experience in creative maintenance and security planning, maintenance and security management and working to deadlines

  • Creative approach to problem solving

  • Good numeracy skills including a knowledge of reporting

  • Previous experience working in a matrix corporate environment

  • Previous maintenance and security experience (5 years+)

Required Skills:

  • Experience in Building and Electrical Maintenance activities associated to a manufacturing facility (5 years +)

  • Course or diploma in criminal law

  • Conducting and leading of investigations

  • Knowledge of security laws and relevant legislation of SA

  • Analytical skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to be self-directed

  • PC Literacy.

  • Must be able to make sound independent decisions

  • Team player working in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills

  • Driver’s license required
