This internship is designed to provide opportunities to a diverse mix of students who demonstrate the same high level of ethics, values, creativity and performance we expect from our employees. During the 12-week paid internship, students will work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business and will be coached and mentored by Eaton leaders.
The objective of the internship is to develop students in our operations through practical manufacturing and operations experiences, as well as assist in the personal development of leadership competencies through training, networking and coaching. The assignment will help the participant develop a wide range of leadership and functional competencies within the field of operations. Opportunities are available for those students interested in specific engineering functions such as operations, design, lean, manufacturing, operational excellence, quality, or supply chain. – Wherever your career aspirations lie, you can cultivate your skills in the Eaton Multicultural Summer Program – Operations for Engineers.
Eaton’s EMSP-OE is for students pursuing a degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. Completion of their sophomore year by the start of the internship is preferred.
To facilitate and accelerate the on-boarding process, students are provided a competitive housing allowance and reimbursement for relocation. The summer internship culminates with a formal presentation where students showcase their success stories to senior leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, industrial or manufacturing engineering (with a minimum of one year completed) at an accredited college/university, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Actively involved in leadership activities
Geographically flexible
Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
Prior internship or co-op experience a plus but not required
After completion of the internship, and upon graduation, your experience and newly acquired skills could lead you to a variety of career paths, such as the Eaton Leadership Development Program- Operations for Engineers. This full-time program could include assignments in Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Engineering or Front Line Supervision. You could also pursue a direct hire role within one of Eaton’s manufacturing locations upon graduation.
