Eaton Corporation Shipping and Receiving Clerk- 1st shift in Tualatin, Oregon

Eaton located in Tualatin, OR has an opening for a Shipping/ Receiving Clerk on 1st shift.

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of Shipping, Receiving and Finished Goods Inventory Control consistent with operations plans and objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify system information before creation of packing slip in order to ship product correctly. Coordinate with Customer Service Department as required to update or modify shipment data.

  • Package, palletize and label all domestic and international shipments.

  • Identify parts and verify against attached documents to ensure correctness of shipments.

  • Properly label materials for inventory purposes and place in proper location.

  • Understands priorities by using daily shipping and backlog reports to prioritize & expedite jobs.

  • Responsible for shipping finished product to customers both domestic and international following Customer, Statutory and Regulatory requirements.

  • Create and prepare shipping documents (domestic/international) BOL, SLI, Commercial Invoice and packing slips

  • Receive incoming materials; verify packing lists, quantities and accompanying certifications

  • Contact freight companies for pick up or delivery schedules.

  • Interact with the Customer Service Department to keep informed of delivery date changes.

  • Receive Production orders from manufacturing for Finished Goods.

  • Work in conjunction with intercompany departments to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries regarding shipping status.

  • Expedite, reroute shipments, and resolve shipment discrepancies.

  • Resolve customer concerns regarding incorrect shipments and/or missing documentation.

  • Regularly communicate with other teams and raise critical issues in a timely manner. (remove , redundant)

  • Knowledge and experience using FIFO

  • Reports large inventory variances and discrepancies

  • Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions

  • Understanding the principles of 5S.

  • Assist team in achieving plant and department goals.

  • Assist with continuous improvement

  • Fosters an environment that promotes company goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.

  • Perform other related duties as requested or required.

  • Responsible for maintaining and creating written work instructions and procedures for all aspects of the shipping and receiving function.Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience required.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms

Position Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.

  • Ability to work overtime and off-shifts when needed, including weekends.

  • Self-directed with strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Must be able to frequently stand or bend

  • Basic computer literacy required including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Must be able to meet deadlines within tight scheduling requirements.

  • Strong problem analysis/solving skills.

  • Effective communication and organization skills.

  • High levels of accuracy in inventory record keeping

  • High attention to detail, inspection, quality work and motivation to meet production goals .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of UPS World Ship preferred.

  • Experience with Customs Declaration Forms and HTS codes

  • Previous experience in inventory controls and MRP systems, preferably SAP.
