Job Description This position is responsible for developing and implementing the supplier quality and development strategy for the assigned plant. Provides leadership and guidance for subordinates in analyzing, measuring, and improving supplier performance. Works closely with suppliers on training and development opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)
2. List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.
A. Support the development of the strategy and goals for Supplier quality performance and development activities
B. Lead supplier audits and assessments in order to ensure compliance to requirements and assess supplier capabilities to perform required tasks
C. Directs supplier development activities, in conjunction with supplier personnel, to assist in delivery, cost and quality performance improvements
D. Analyzes quality performance level of suppliers and leads problem solving and root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances as required
E. Coordinates training and facilitation courses on supplier development and quality systems tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, 8-D, FEMA, Control Plans, PPAP, etc
F. Leads and facilitates cross-functional teams involving suppliers and Eaton functional disciplines to seek continuous improvement, problem resolution and cost-out initiatives.
G. Participates in the identification and validation of new sources of supply
H. Actively participates in Eaton Supplier and Quality Councils
I. Evaluates operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
J. Develop the professionalism of the SQDE & SQE through the APEX process
K. To actively support the deployment of the EQS policies
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) • Thorough understanding of customer/industry unique part approval requirements.
• Detailed knowledge of industry specific quality registration schemes. i.e., ISO9001, ISO/TS-16949, AS9100 etc.
• Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts
• Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management.
• Knowledge of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements. (design/process interface)
• Working knowledge of gauging and basic understanding of product material properties.
• Multiple years of related professional and Supervisory/Managerial experience
• Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams
