Eaton Corporation Materials Manager in Tijuana, Mexico

Eaton’s Electrical Products Group is seeking a Materials Manager for its Controls and Protection TAM Division. The Materials Manager will be based at our Tijuana, Mexico facility.

This position directs a wide breadth of services to assigned internal businesses in support of SCM and corporate strategies, initiatives, and goals focusing only in the areas of Planning and Warehouse.

Position Overview:

The Materials Manager is a key strategic leader responsible for the areas of Materials & Inventory Management as well as Customer Satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Directs all supply chain activities including: materials management, inventory planning, scheduling, order planning and fulfillment and input/output process management.

  • Maintains information and forecasts in SCM trends and services, responsible for SIOP.

  • Manage objective planning process related to materials activities

  • Build & maintain a positive working relationship with internal & external customers

  • Initiate & implement process improvement activities to meet business objectives (scheduling levels, lean value chains, logistics contracts)

  • Support Corporate cost-out activities as representative for the plant

  • Support EHS action plan. Safety performance improvement. Ensure EHS goals are fully cascaded. Contractors Certification. Handling of chemicals. See attachment for more details.

  • Coordinate in conjunction with Quality Manager visits and define action plans to improve Customer satisfaction.

  • Lead cost out efforts in the materials function to achieve profit plans targets.

  • Lead annual inventory to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Develops and directs the implementation of group-wide strategy for finished goods forecasting and planning.

  • Create the Inventory Plan and Execute (Dlls and DOH) in order to satisfy the Business needs in terms of material availability and financial impact

  • Develops and directs the successful implementation of service strategy that consistently achieves on-time delivery, maximizes the efficient use of resources, and optimizes customer satisfaction, while maintaining acceptable finished goods inventory levels and meeting group profit plan.

  • Coordinates with cross functional business units to maximize efficiency of supply chain resources and provides business solutions.

  • Drives continuous business improvement processes using technology, labor and asset solutions to improve service level, cost position, and productivity.

  • Develops and implements the profit plan for inventory planning, materials management and order fulfillment.

  • Establishes, analyzes, and reports supply chain key performance indicators and business & quality metrics.

  • Develops and implements world-class supply chain organization (talent resources and talent development) to drive improvement in service and inventory.

  • Monitors the performance of core service providers to insure compliance and alignment with customer requirements and contractual obligations.

  • Provide guidance and leadership to manufacturing operations and service providers towards developing innovative or “Best Practice” solutions to supply chain problems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Logistics, Materials Management preferred

  • 7 - 10 years’ experience in the Materials function in a manufacturing environment (Electronic/Automotive preferred)

  • Proven experience on electronic manufacturing environment focused on high mix low volume and 100% make to order

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools, pull systems (KanBan & Min-Max)

  • Solid working knowledge of MRP systems & strong PC skills

  • Strong SAP experience and knowledge

  • APICS certification is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience & understanding of Maquila & Pitex processes

  • High level of interpersonal skill to work effectively with others

  • Strong English and Spanish communication skills.
