Job Description Manage the supplier quality function in the effort to develop, implement, and maintain world-class quality results that ensure supplier quality results meet plant and group goals and objectives.
Main objectives of the position:
- proactively lead and address all supplier related quality issues including problem solving with the suppliers
- conduct detailed drawing and specification reviews with suppliers prior to outsourcing products and awarding business
- conduct supplier APQP reviews using cross-functional teams for all outsourced products prior to approving PPAP
- lead PPAP process of new and modified components
- assess supplier's competence/limitations with respect to measurement, testing and inspection systems ensuring acceptable gage correlation prior to PPAP
- manage supplier corrective actions, ensuring thorough root cause analysis
- provide feedback to production, manufacturing, quality regarding supplier open quality issues
- initiate and manage sort process of defective component (including cost analysis)
- initiate supplier chargeback process of defective material
- perform annual on-site supplier process review
- conduct process audits at supplier locations
- organize incoming inspection process (including Control plan, Trouble shooting).
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) • Bachelor of Science in engineering, technical or other approved discipline
• 5 years minimum manufacturing or quality experience with a knowledge of blueprint reading, measurement methods, statistical methods, problem solving, industry quality standards, and continuous improvement tools
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and processes
• Knowledge of automotive quality standards and tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, 8Ds, SPC
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Technical report writing skills
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
