Eaton Corporation Product Certification Specialist in Syracuse, New York
Eaton Crouse-Hinds is looking to hire a Product Certification Specialist for the division HQ here in Syracuse NY.
The Product Certification Specialist coordinates with Engineering and Product Development groups to develop, analyze and establish the requirements, specifications, procedures and other engineering documents necessary to obtain product listing through the selected 3rd Party Certification Agency such as UL, CSA, Intertek, NOM, etc.
Prepares agency certification reports for various products for submittal to the relevant agency for listing.
Coordinates and implements product testing for certification agencies to include follow-up submittals and product development to comply with UL/CSA Standards and to achieve product introduction dates.
Assists in the analysis and interpretation of modifications and changes affecting the certification of current products.
Works with Agency Engineers & Field Inspectors to troubleshoot and resolve open issues and variation notices that may arise.
Interface with representatives of the various standards organizations as required.
Participates in the maintenance of a documentation system which tracks product listing requests and their status to insure complete and accurate information is available to the organization.
Works with Engineering Test Lab to ensure testing is being conducted in accordance with applicable UL, CSA, ATEX and IEC Standards.
Participate in the ECR/ECN process to review all potential changes for agency compliance, alerting all departments to problems, drive resolution, and update product description files accordingly.
Interface regularly with team members from Operations, Engineering, Packaging and Marketing to support any issues pertaining to product certification.
Works with factories to establish/maintain agency follow-up services.
Works with UL and the Engineering Test Lab to maintain UL Data Acceptance Program (DAP) status.
2 years’ experience working with agency standards and testing procedures
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50 mile radius of work location will be considered
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
Experience with UL, CSA, ATEX and IEC standards
