Eaton Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse, New York is looking for a WAREHOUSER (2nd Shift)
Primary Function: Perform all required duties to receive, check, select, weigh, store, transport and deliver diverse supplies, raw materials, machined parts, assemblies, bar stock, and stock material.
Utilize radio frequency communication devices to transmit data to the computerized warehouse management system.
Load and unload trucks, reconcile receiving reports to count of incoming goods and report discrepancies to supervision.
Operate stock platform truck, electric truck, gas fork truck or hand truck and triaxial system as required to receive, accumulate, store and dispense materials.
Cut bar stock to required lengths using such power or hand equipment as shears, band saws, etc.
Care needed to avoid mixing similar stock and to properly identify and select stock.
Occasionally obtain necessary signatures and receipts.
Perform daily maintenance to fork trucks including check and replenish oil, gas and water, hook up battery to charger, change LP gas tanks, etc. Must have knowledge of parts and castings used in the department and have the ability to visually identify parts, missed operations or faulty material.
Post parts received to production orders, assign or record locations and store parts as required.
Select, count, and sort using PC based systems, print bar code labels required to perform necessary warehouse transactions; deliver orders to designated production areas; return materials to stockroom or other departments after use.
Refer to card file to determine storage locations.
Maintain written records of production orders and perform cycle counts advising supervision of shortages.
Notify supervision when production orders are complete.
Perform a variety of related or associated duties, including those of a clerical nature such as keeping stock records or taking inventory, as required or directed. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow standard or prescribed safety regulations. Refer all unusual conditions to supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position
Judgement required to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
Able to add, subtract, multiply, divide including decimals and fractions; make ordinary use of charts and tables, schedules and properly interpret reports or recorded data.
Duties require the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the proper selection and sequence of computer operations, to insure accurate and timely inventory management, within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
Requires the use of judgment to comply with instructions or prescribed routines.
