As Engineering Program Manager you will bring an end-to-end perspective to product development that considers all aspects from the hardware-software interface to the range of computation platforms and software stacks necessary to deliver on the promise of modern connected products and experiences. The primary focus of this position will be to lead the engineering team responsible for the development of new products. This position will have the responsibility of establishing and maintaining the capital and expense budgets for the department, overseeing all project activities, resource planning, evaluating new technologies, prioritizing the workload of the team and mentoring the team to ensure growth of skill and proficiency levels.
Define the technical approach, system hardware and software architecture, and subsystem specifications of new connected lighting products in support of New Product Development (NPD).
Drive new capabilities requirements in our platforms in order to support the development of new product features.
Work in concert with the Connective Community, Center for Connected Intelligent Solutions + Centers of Excellence, Technology Development teams and the Sales & Marketing groups within the Eaton Lighting Division to champion IoT strategies.
Responsible for developing end-to-end ecosystem architecture blue print for connected lighting features partnering with electrical, embedded software, mechanical and mobile application engineers.
Works with cross functional groups to develop interoperability interfaces across sub systems and translate them into system level requirements for building state-of-the-art connected lighting systems architecture.
Drives project execution for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs with work package approvals, engineering management plan and attaining all engineering deliverables per project plan.
Efficiently coordinate the efforts of the NPD team and seek replication opportunities across brands and product spaces.
Create departmental capital and expense budgets in conjunction with Multi-Generational Product Plans.
Supervise and lead a team of engineers to advance program management efforts and NPD.
Coordinate with Marketing to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, and achievable and are consistent with Voice of the Customer data.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in designing and building complex systems hardware / software systems.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

System thinker with excellent understanding of software system architecture, operating system fundamentals, API designs, and system security.
Ability to work with large cross functional teams under aggressive timelines and heavy workloads.
Active engagements with professional groups and SIGs in fields such as software engineering, cloud computing, IoT, and security.
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Knowledge of cloud connectivity or knowledge of Internet of Things is preferred.
Knowledge of communication security, channel authentication mechanisms, security protocols and assertions.
Knowledge and experience with systems architecture fundamentals and interoperability standards and emerging trends.
