Eaton Corporation Director Operations EP Americas in Syracuse, New York

The Eaton Crouse-Hinds EP Americas Director of Operations reports directly to the Senior VP/GM Crouse-Hinds EP Americas, and functionally to the Global Vice President, Operations for Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds business. This role is responsible for leading and driving the Manufacturing Operations function as well as the continuous improvement activities in safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost of non-conformance (CONC) for the fourteen (14) sites in the Americas Region including which includes our CDC and west coast warehouse representing a sales volume of $700M+ and approximately 2000 employees.

The Director of Operations is a member of the EP Americas Leadership Team and will be charged with engaging cross functional resources to lead a collective effort to drive improvement across the sites in the Americas Region. This role will create and implement disciplined processes and procedures across EP Americas, particularly related to Service, CI/LEAN Tools, Sales Inventory, Operations and Planning (SIOP), and materials management, and will provide leadership to the organization through a proactive and motivating approach.


Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations/Manufacturing, Business Administration or a 4 year technical degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum of 15 years manufacturing operations experience including plant management.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading and managing a significant segment/business unit of a large industrial manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer

  • Must be able to travel at least 25% of the time domestically and internationally as needed and required

  • Must be able to work in the United States on a continual basis without requiring corporate sponsorship

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA or MS Engineering preferred

  • Previous experience in the heavy industrial product manufacturing with variety of manufacturing processes (foundry operations, plating, molding, CNC machining, etc)

  • Must have an extensive background in driving continuous improvement activities to improve operational performance including knowledge of lean management systems and lean tools.

  • Bilingual skills in Spanish

  • Broad knowledge of key operational systems including sales inventory operations planning (SIOP), materials planning systems (MRP), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and quality systems with diverse experience managing varied and complex manufacturing processes.

  • Strong leadership skills along with proven capability to deliver results and build high performance teams.

  • Must have a strong operational and financial acumen, executive presence and the ability to lead multiple locations.
