Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The District Service Manager will direct and coordinate the activities of this field service operations center toward achieving sales, profit, and growth goals while continually improving quality and customer service levels. The District Manager is responsible for providing local market knowledge to the strategic planning process and applying this information to local sales management responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develop a forwarding looking profit plan and provide monthly forecasts with accuracy so that the district financial commitments are met on a monthly basis. Oversee procurement, efficient execution, cost control, leveraging subcontractors, inventory management, managing receivables and turn of backlog and projects.
• Assure an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent, training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies and standards. Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention within the district.
• Assure the safety of employees who work in low, medium, and high voltage work environments. Assure strict compliance with safety policies, deploy safety programs, assure safety equipment resources are available and properly tested, provide direction for proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with sales teams and channel partners within the district, supporting the selling process such that orders and sales objectives are met. Stay current with market trends and drivers in the district to support strategic planning process.
• Effectively manage team of diverse and dispersed field service workforce throughout assigned district. Demonstrate good corporate citizenship. Assure the security and effective allocation of company resources and assets.
This position may be based in any of Eaton's offices in Australia.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) • Bachelor’s degree, major in engineering
• At least 10 to 15 years of overall work experience, with 5+ years related experience in power distribution services
• Knowledge of low voltage, medium voltage products and systems as well as control and electrical design
• Takes initiative and instills confidence in peers and sales personnel
• Strong organization and project management skills
• Excellent customer service skills and high expectations for performance
• Able to work under pressure
