Eaton Corporation Certification Engineer (m/f) in Soest, Germany

You are responsible for the certification and assurance of a portfolio of products for Eaton Central Safety Power Supply Systems for Emergency Lighting (CPS-EL). You will have the specific responsibility to advise and specify products as they go through the design, development and testing phases then to manage the final approval process for products, working with a number of national and International recognized third parties who certify Emergency Lighting products. Furthermore you will have the responsibility to coordinate and manage the certification and / or re-certification of already existing products of our product portfolio.

  • Complete application forms and gather data for new approval projects from Product Management

  • Make recommendations on processes and procedures to minimize time delays with Approval bodies

  • Work with the Engineering Team and Product Management to ensure systems and procedures are in place to minimize errors and delays at the Approvals / Certification bodies.

  • Keep detailed records and advise approval / certification bodies of major & minor modifications in cooperation with the local standardization and document management department.

  • Ensure publicly available documents relevant to the role are up to date and compliant with the relevant directives and risk-assessments, specifically product user manuals, catalogues, leaflets and web site information

  • Creating the Declaration of Conformity and the associated technical files in accordance to the requirements of the European Directives, e. g. 2014/30/EU and 2014/35/EU

  • Act as the first point of contact for Central Power Systems – Emergency Lighting Approval and Compliance issues within the Center of Excellence CPS-EL

Qualifications

  • Technician in Electrical Engineering required; Bachelor degree preferred

  • comprehensive experience with approval bodies

  • very good knowledge of the relevant Industry national and international standards

  • Experience in Emergency Lighting design desirable

  • SAP knowledge desirable

  • strong diagnostic and problem solving skills

  • technical Documentation Skills

  • excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills

  • German, fluency in English is a must
